I've just noticed that it's now possible to post reviews and score resources on the Logos.com website. That's great news!
Yay, very nice! I wonder if there's going to be a way to filter the website for products that have been reviewed or sort search results by customer rating or number of reviews.
Now we just need some reviewers! I think I know of a few who could if they would...
That is helpful--hopefully in a coming release we can create a review directly while in Logos4, perhaps in the "Info" panel of a resource. That is usually where I consider such matters--tagging, rating, etc.
Good idea. However, it is a doubled edged sword. I have seen people use the reviews on Amazon to write lengthy paragraphs to debate theological issues. Sighhhh. The more things change, the more they remain the same. [:(]
I know someone who could be a good critic on
[;)]
Has anybody stumbled on any reviews that people have posted yet?
I think reviews are a good thing. I usually read reviews before making purchases on Amazon. Those individuals who post unfair reviews are usually corrected by the majority with the truth.
Way to go Logos with reviews on products on your site. [:D]
I know someone who could be a good critic on Barnes' Notes on the Old and New Testaments
Well if it's who I think, it would turn out to be an opinion, not a review. [A]
I do have to hand it to the Barnes boosters - they did it! Good for them.
We kind of snuck this one out in the middle of the night. In the coming months, and as reviews get populated we are going to add several new facets for searching and sorting with the data from reviews. We are not quite there yet, but we will be soon enough.

This is really great! Would please consider adding this feature to the Vyrso website as well! I am reading two books right now that were bought on Vyrso that would be fun to review.
Blessings!
lol I was searching for and then going to ask the same question! [:D]

Thanks, Nathan (and Logos team)
User reviews will be very useful.

With all the forum discussion this has generated in the past (and some now), I was surprised to find that there are still virtually no reviews. I looked up a dozen or so popular products and only found 1. So I went ahead and quickly posted a few reviews that I hope users will find helpful. I've been a student, the graduate research assistant to the head of our seminary's NT department, and am now a full-time preacher, so I've tried to comment on how helpful these resources are for these various aspects of useage. So far I've posted reviews for:
- Word Biblical Commentary
- R. Kent Hughes "Preaching the Word" Commentary series
- IVP New Testament Commentary series
- Commentary on the NT use of the OT by Beale and Carson.
...more to come as I have time....
If you guys see products that have reviews listed, please share, as I'm always looking for user help in deciding on which new resources to purchase.

Tell me what you think of my brief review of Wolf's book. http://www.logos.com/product/715/an-introduction-to-the-old-testament-pentateuch
Tell me what you think of my brief review of Wolf's book.
Lynden, Bravo!
I also took a spin with this book in an OT Overview course and am glad you mentioned Wolf's introductory treatment to alternate views. I think its definitely a selling point.
I've posted a review for Lectures to my Students, Vol. 4: Commenting and Commentaries by Charles Spurgeon
I also wrote a rather quick review of the Expositor's Bible Commentary from my iPad and found editing difficult. After pressing enter twice and then typing my last sentence, I was unable to edit/add to my unsubmitted entry. I then selected my entire text and copied it yet only my first paragraph was copied. My solution was to copy what I could to Notes, add the last sentence by hand, edit, then copy the revised work and paste into a freshly navigated to EBC page.
Excellent reviews, Paul and Lynden. I see there's also a "Like" feature (which I tried out, and it works great [:)]) and a way to flag reviews as offensive.
Two features I felt were missing were the ability to edit one's submitted reviews and/or the ability to delete one's own submitted review if a mistake is noticed.
I agree, hopefully this will be included in the features Logos says they are soon adding for reviews. Thanks for the updates guys, good reviews, keep 'em coming.
It's not much, but I took the time today to enter reviews into Logos for every resource that I've read cover to cover.
I realize some folks will want reviews to go into theological depth (like some of the reviews on Amazon)...mine are much more basic.
It is a pain to have to open Logos4 and the website and then search for a resource I want to review on the website--wish there was a direct way to do this from within L4 itself, or at least a hyperlink on the info about the resource in L4 that would at least open the product page on Logos' website.
Also, it would be nice to be able to have the review info for the Vyrso books--I've got a couple of those I could comment on if there was a way to do it (other than FB/etc)

Discovered that you must click a star rating before the software would allow a review to be posted. Apparently, zero stars is not an option.
[Y][Y]
Yes but 1-star = "Hated it;" 2 stars = "Didn't like it;" Only 3 stars and above is positive, with 3 stars being a non-committal "It's okay"; 4 stars = "Liked it" 5 stars = "Loved it!"
I reviewed the ESVSB notes. After using it for a while, I've found it doesn't really stand out that much from other study Bibles in Logos, and it is very biased regarding the complementarian/egalitarian debate (the social roles of men and women). Still, I gave it 4 stars. I "like it," but I don't "love it."
1-star = "Hated it;'
Maybe I did not like it that much [:D] Anyway, thanks for the insight into star ratings.
Paul, it is possible to delete your own review. There is a small delete button next to your review in the bottom right hand corner.
good catch Lynden!
Here is another one. http://www.logos.com/product/9500/andrews-study-bible
People have been going to town on reviewing the Camp Logos DVDs: http://www.logos.com/product/9356/camp-logos-live
People have been going to town...
lol, Rosie
I posted one for Mark Futato's Beginning Biblical Hebrew
... And we're already missing the point of reviews. I want to know about the DVD not whether you think it's fair that Logo's makes money on training material. Did you learn something from the DVD? Was it done well? Was it easy to understand? Please don't ruin the reviews with your pet peeves. I enjoy reading the forum too but it's getting harder and harder to find real helpful information buried under all the junk and fighting. Let's not ruin the reviews too.

I agree...most of those are not actually reviews of the DVD's...and therefore not very helpful. I cannot purchase them now, but would like to in the future. It would be nice to read some reviews of how they actually work and or structured.

[Y] I think it wasn't a good design decision to only allow "likes" for the reviews. Actually I dislike most of them. I haven't seen one that really reviews the product.
Then again: At least two are flagged as inappropriate - I'd expect an email to fly into someone's inbox the moment a review is flagged and I expect this someone to resolve the situation by either censoring or deleting comments or taking the flag away. Right now, the review feature is an invitation for trolls.
...and someone flagged them all! [:|]
Anyone post any reviews recently?

I'm not sure which review this pertained to, and agree that my reviews are a bit on the light side (my thoughts/feelings/experience of reading a resource), but given the removal I'm pretty sure it is the last reviewing I attempt on Logos.
