Have installed L4 as per method 2 on new computer (Asus discover, 1 gig memory), and it's taking forever to prepare my library (21 gig).  1/2 hour so far.  Is this normal? How long should I wait for it to finish?  Will it work on 1  gig memory?  It can't be increased, or I'd have done it.  I got this computer for travelling to places here it might get stolen.  But I wanted it for logos.  The shop might take it back, as they can doubtless sell it.  We have a happy relationship.

I think you've run up against the requirements of Logos 4 regarding RAM.  See

Is it a new computer? Are you talking 10 GIG instead of 1 GIG?

1 gig is not enough. I remember when I install L4 with 4 gig ram, it took me 4 to 5 hours including indexing.

Yes, it took me that long.  It eventually worked.  I got a cheap. expendable computer for travelling to insecure countries, so I don't lose everything if it gets nicked,  I know Logos wants more than 1 gig.  I have also read of people running it on 1 gig.
