If someone goes to your profile page and uses the Add comment link, you get an e-mail that includes the claim that "You can reply to this message with the following Link:". Only that link takes you to your own profile page, when it ought to take you to the profile page of the person who sent the message. Very confusing.
Furthermore, though I'm pleased we can now send messages without them being made public the way they were before, I'm wondering what happens if the person I'm sending the message to has comment notification set to 'No'? Will I at least be told that the comment hasn't been sent? Before you changed the profile page that was not the case. I posted a comment, it was published, and then a long time later I could get a return comment saying that 'I just saw this comment you put on my profile page a year ago. Sorry I didn't see it earlier'. It's nice to know if someone's not answering because he doesn't want to be contacted this way and never saw the comment, or if he's not answering because he's choosing not to...
It's nicer still if you're spared writing a comment that has no chance of ever being read. In other words -- since there is now no way of reading a comment if no e-mail is sent out -- if notifications are off, the Add comment link should be grey and dead, or gone altogether. I'm pretty certain that's not presently the case, unless the person I know used to have notifications off has turned them on again, which I doubt.
