Turning off the megaphones?
I am seeing this now in L5-
See the long line of megaphones in the passage? I find this distracting. Since each one seems to be pointing to some additional information on each of the names in the previous list, I also find it redundant...I can get the same (or more) info in the Information panel by clicking on a name.
What is the official name of these little critters, what do they do (I must be missing something here), and is there a way to turn them off?

They are called, 'speaker labels,' and can be turned off via the visual filter menu.

As Andy said, this is speaker labels. You can turn it off by clicking the tripple circle thing at the top then uncheck speaker labels.

I only think it is distracting when there are several in a row. It would be nice if they were able to figure out a way to have those come up on a list when you hover over them as opposed to 7 different megaphones. My guess is the coding for that would be a nightmare though.
