Benedictine Studies Collection on prepub!

Nice, but I don't think I can defend the cost.

(Note to older users: Don't miss the "If you already own this collection in our old Libronix format, you will automatically receive this upgrade free of charge.")

What's also nice is that this is the second Liturgical Press title in a couple of weeks. That ought to mean that Sacra Pagina and Berit Olam are on the way. And the Aramaic Bible. And Jurgens, and Congar, and the Little Rock Catholic Study Bible, and a number of other things that have been asked for, often repeatedly.

I'm surprised, though, that Vatican Council II: The Conciliar and Post Conciliar Documents (2 vols.) hasn't progressed more. It's such an essential resource!

I noticed that too, and am surprised -- did this actually ever exist before in Libronix format? I would likely have had it already if it did, but I don't. So I guess that means I'm going to order it.

I wasn't around at the time, of course, but I'm pretty sure I've seen something about locked benedictine resources on some CD. Wait, I think it was one of the Collegeville CD's? Didn't remember it was this much, though.

The first of the Vatican II volumes has also been in Libronix. Found it on a list last year.

Yes, actually that one and Benedict’s Rule: A Commentary are the only ones I care about, so I'll probably wait until they're unbundled. Do you have Benedict’s Rule: A Commentary already? Do you think it's worth having?

Here's a link where one can find product lists showing what was produced for Libronix in various years.

If you happen to own the CD, you could try phoning Liturgical Press about the cost to unlock them. According to their website it should still be possible.

T. G. Kardong's translation and commentary are well worth having.  It provides good insight into the rule it's origin, and reasoning behind it in it's historical setting.

I am not impressed at all with the copy of the rule included included in Verbum, Kardong and the fry translation are both very nice ones.
