Cannot re-install Logos 4

I unistalled Logos 4 because it kept freezing/crashing. I deleted the appropriate folders and got rid of all logos stuff in registry. When I try to run the logos 4 installer it says "setup was unable to download a required file." I am currently searching for my discs to reinstall but so far no luck. Any help on this is appreciated.

Are you using a "Non-Admin" account?

Sometimes I have had that situation.

Logos appears to at least need the first pre-requisite download to be installed from "within" the Admin account [but NOT with "elevated" priveleges].

From your previous thread, describing the freezing/crashing, the logsshow that you were running an old version 4.6 SR-2 rather than the latest 4.6a SR-6; which could well have been the cause of the issue! They also show you are on Windows 7 SP1.

Reboot the computer and retry the download link from here http://www.logos.com/downloads or (directly) http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe

Don't use your old discs!

I apologize I missed your initial crash thread. It sounds like we could have installed an update to fix the stability issues, but this new issue lends us a clue regarding the previous.

"Unable to download a required file" generally indicates that we're being blocked by a Firewall or Proxy. This same problem is likely why your Logos 4 was not updating previously.

Most Firewalls have an exceptions or "allowed programs" list. You'll want to add the Logos4Setup.exe to this list. After installing, go back and add Logos4.exe as well. This should get you back up and running and allow you to download future updates.

If you have trouble, give us a call. We're a little limited in how much support we can provide for a firewall (since all of them work a little differently), but we'd be glad to help you look through yours and resolve this if we're able.
