Do they play well together? I am afraid to clean etc if it messes up Logos. Does anybody use it?

I have used MacKeeper for several months. Clean Up has no effect on Logos.

I have no experience, but I just found this: Do not install MacKeeper. That's Apple's own support forums calling MacKeeper "highly invasive malware that can de-stablize your operating system" and "very tricky to get rid of", so you might want to read before installing.

However, note that this is not an official Apple support announcement. It is rather a user forum similar to the Logos forums. This is one person's opinion, and no one has added a comment. However, the links are worth pursuing if you are considering MacKeeper.

This is Apple's official disclaimer at the bottom of that page.

Personally, I have never had a problem with the application. YMMV Geeked

I know that. However, note that

  • the author is a level 7 poster with 34,180 points.
  • it's a carefully written post, full of supporting links, not just 'whining'.
  • no one in the whole of that very knowledgeable community has objected.
  • There are two pages of threads saying the same thing (at least all that I clicked on did).

Personally, I wouldn't touch it after seeing that. I hope you don't get to regret that you have.

When I replace my Mac next year, I will probably not move MacKeeper over. While I have never had a problem with it, I also can see no benefit of its presence.

I also hope for the same thing Big Smile

To get back to the original question—Mike, you should probably avoid MacKeeper.

There are several reports that MacKeeper is malware.

I have been using MacKeeper with Logos 5. I have never experienced any problem. There is no need to afraid while cleaning with MacKeeper. In my case it worked very well.
