Is anyone on this forum enrolled in the Knox Seminary / Logos M.A. In Biblical and Theological Studies program?

I'm starting to look into this online degree program and would like to hear what you think about the format, the curriculum, the quality of teaching, etc.

Thanks,

Peter

I'm looking into it as well and would be interested in anyone's feedback.

I'm wrapping up my first class in the next couple of weeks and the moving on to CH502 (Church History). I'm currently taking NT502 (Survey of Gospels/Acts). I'd say so far so good!

You can expect a different work load from class-to-class I think. I just received my syllabus for the Church History course and it seems to have quite a bit more reading and writing (longer papers).

The online element requires a person to be self-disciplines and driven in order to not only complete assignments but actually retain and learn the material. We are expected to interact on the forums quite a bit as we ask our questions and respond to posts.

The general format thus far is the following: 1) required readings, 2) watching pre-recorded online lectures, 3) weekly quizzes, 4) 2 graded discussion board posts, 5) 4 graded discussion board responses, 6) well researched webinar question, 7) final exam.

However, looking at the syllabus for the next class, there is no final exam but 2 lengthy papers (midterm and final).

Let me know if you have more questions!

CL

Thanks, CL!

Are all the readings from the Logos library so far? Also, have you taken the "E-" courses yet that teach how to work with Logos properly?

Thanks again,

Peter

All of the Gospel/Acts texts were available in the Logos store, however the main text for the church history course is not. The Story of Christianity by Justo Gonzalez. However, I assume most of the required texts will be available for download through Logos.

I haven't taken any of the E-courses yet. It will be interesting to see how they work out.

Can someone show me the link to where you get started with this?

Here http://www.knoxseminary.edu/  and here http://seminarydegreesonline.com/. I assume it's okay to post links if we are encouraging others to look at a seminary that Logos is heavily partnered with? My apologies, if I've overstepped by bounds.

Jonathan, are you able to help me with the request I posted here

I assume someone at Logos should have access to copy syllabi given your partnership with Knox.  Even the old syllabi will be fine - I only want a very general flavour of what's involved in these three classes in particular.  Thanks.

Kevin VanHouser is at Knox right?

If you are, or will be taking classes there, make sure you check out the Giesler/Roach book called Defending Inerrancy by Norm Giesler and my former roommate William Roach (PHD Candidate at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary).
