Multiple Layouts

Is it possible to have more than one layout open at a time?

It would be very convenient to have 2 or more layouts open at the same time. Sometimes in a week where I am prepping for multiple things, it would be nice to not have to completely close one layout, open another, only to have a thought occur - or a question arise. It would be nice to have the ability to toggle between layouts/studies rather than save/close/open a layout.

Any thoughts about this?

Ross ... you must be one that actually 'uses' Logos.

Your suggestion's been repeated quite a bit. I suspect the most functional request was to be able to add a layout to a layout (eg a 'core' layout and then extras that you could bring in without getting rid of the core layout).

But these are user issues; not developer issues. We can dream.

You could create a layout that includes two full-screen floating windows, each of which has one complete study setup within it, tabs and all. Then you can switch back and forth between these two floating windows. If you have resources (such as your Bible) that need to appear in both layouts, you can open multiple copies of those. Then you'd save the entire thing as a single layout but name it for the two different tasks it allows you to accomplish simultaneously (e.g., "Sermon Prep & Bible Study").

slap me and call me dumb, but Rosie you remember that long thread/discourse about adding a shortcut to the shortcuts bar that would open a list similar to the history pane, but you added different type of "saved" layouts and tools. you could hover over it and had the option to "open in a floating window" so that you could run a regular layout and one of the others at the same time....mercy I can't remember what that thread is called and I am not in a situation that I can get to L5, but I use it still, the shortcut venue thingiee button tab......whatchamacallit.

Sorry, but I must be dumb too. I can't remember that thread, nor the "list similar to the history pane" that you're referring to. My brain is taking a holiday for Lent, I think.

The Wiki article provides a nice Logos hack. I would still like to see multiple layouts with a full menu and toolbar for each layout implemented. I believe that would be a great addition to this great software.
