A perfectly viable option while waiting on features to be added to the native Windows 8 Logos app

I know this was mentioned in the android forum, but I only discovered it today and I know some of you Win8 tablet users our there will appreciate this option - I know I do.  There is an android emulator called BlueStacks (www.bluestacks.com) which runs the Android version of the Logos app perfectly well.  I installed the Win8 Version optimized for Surface Pro on my Asus Taichi running Win 8 Pro and it works like a charm.  I must say the Android team has made great strides in the several months since I tried it last.  It looks essentially identical at this point to the iPad app.

It's slightly sluggish running in the BlueStacks emulator, but not too bad.  At least it gives me a touch friendly app I can run on my win8 convertible tablet/laptop that gives me convenient access to my reading plans and other features not in the Win8 native app yet.

The main catch is that I'm certain BlueStacks only runs on the full Win8 tables (Intel Processors).  Windows RT users are out of luck there.

Good luck!

hi there

Thanks for this suggestion!

I have installed bluestacks on my Samsung ATIV pro, which has Windows 8 Pro, 256 Gb SSD, 64 Gb SD card and a dockable keyboard, and I have tried the logos android app which I also use on my Galaxy SIII.

I must say that I find the bluestacks option quite a bit too slow to use much for anything other than reading, so I am still waiting with bated breath for the updates to the windows 8 App.  And my ATIV along with the larger memory versions of the Surface Pro's are the hottest Windows tablets out there.  I expect that any of the ATOM powered Windows Pro machines, while they would run bluestacks, would be hopeless for this option.

I guess what I would like to say is I really hope that the Windows App is brought up closer to the android App since right now at least my best option after trying the Windows desktop version, the Windows 8 app, and the Android App over bluestacks, is still the Windows desktop, and it leaves a lot to be desired for touch use.

blessings,

Steve

I long for a touch friendly optimized version for Windows 8 (NOT RT) but then again most everyone in the forum knows I am awaiting cheaper, faster, cooler to the touch, powerful, hardware too.

That's really good to know. Thanks for the information. Disappointing, but maybe higher powered machines will help us out in the future, but at an affordable cost. Or of course Logos could program a Win8 modern UI touch friendly app that will run on an Atom?
