Unless I am missing something I really find the process to export a verse list into MS Word very useless. To have it arrive in Word in the form that it does is quite cumbersome.

So I export to a XPS doc and then convert to a PDF, but it's still not in Word.

Is there a better was that I don't see or know about?

It is hard to say what might be "better" with knowing what you don't like about what is happening now. What are you exporting? How are you doing it? What are you exporting it for and how will you use the exported data?

Peace, Rick!          What exactly is a "verse list"?   Am not sure to what you are referring?    *smile*

Sorry Passage List. Verse list was an old term.

Passage List - Print Export - clipboard, or Open a new Word Document, or and existing one,

puts into a table format with columns and rows with way too much free space and a format that's not really useable in a document.

Are you using the passage list as part of a larger document in word and for what purpose.? For example I often include verses / passages in a sermon or lesson document and choose to use the smart tag feature to copy the text of the verse or passage into the document.

I have created passage lists (usually with more than just a few verses or passages) for distribution of some kind and prefer to print those directly from Logos rather than export them into another document.

I do know that when I export to word formatting the word document is often necessary to get the desired look. But I think that is probably a Microsoft thing rather than Logos.

The smart tag feature is awesome!!

But sometimes I'd like to go through the list and cut and paste into categories, or add study notes to large groups of verses.

Manipulating the order. And yes the re-formatting in Word is hugely ugly and time consuming.

Blessings, Rick!              I had to leave my study for a while and soon will have to leave again.  So, I'm not much help; but, I'll try again when I get back.  Meanwhile, I'm running Microsoft Word 2013 and have a lot to learn about it yet since I've only had it about two months.  What version of Word are you using?

If you want the document out of the table format, that's not too hard.  (If you want something else, I'm not sure how to answer.)  Here's how to get it from table format to text format-

For this demo, I Print/Export -ed to a New Word Document.

Highlight the entire table. Make sure you don't drag below the bottom of the table, or your Table Tools won't show on the menu (arrow).

Under the Table Tools tab, click on the Layout tab, then click 'Convert to Text'.

In the dialog box that pops up, click the radio button for Tabs.

You are now in a document with no table formatting.

I hope this helps, and is answering the question you intended to ask.  Mea culpa if I didn't understand what you wanted to do.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

Faithlife Corp. owes the MVPs free resources for life.
