I'm having trouble viewing the SBL Greek New Testament in  There seems to be a font missing, so some of the symbols show up as squares.  (See screenshot below.)  I'm using Windows XP on that machine (still).  It works fine on my Windows 7 machine, but I thought it might be a difference in fonts.  Does anyone know what font I need to have installed on my computer in order to support SBL GNT on

The characters that are missing (and are displayed as boxes) are apparatus symbols. These symbols are included in the freely available SBL Greek font (, so you may be able to fix the problem by installing that font on your system. (I don't have XP, so I don't know for sure if this will work or not.)

I already had the SBL Greek font, so I tried uninstalling the font from Windows XP, downloading, and reinstalling the font from the SBL site.  It still doesn't work in Internet Explorer and Chrome, but it DOES work in Opera.  (Weird!)

Doesn't work on Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702
Doesn't work on Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110 m
Works on Opera 9.27

Does anyone have any idea why the Greek apparatus symbols show up in Opera but not it IE or Chrome?

I used to have font issues in Windows XP Greek interlinears. This fixed it -!_(Windows_XP_only)

I hope this font issue will also fix your problem with apparatus symbols
