if I remember correctly it used to generate a Passage Guide if a passage (or pericope heading) were entered.
this is now doing a similar thing for topics.
it is automatically generated and we can't control the actual layout.

Is it just me, or are passage headings really pixelated in this release? It looks pretty rough on my Mac. See the attached screenshot - the headings actually look worse on the computer.

Latest Logos 5 upgrade has caused programme to crash - just splash screen then disappears. Could be a problem with indexer. Can you help please!!

Brian, you're not the first person to experience this (see here). I'm not having any problem, but let's help Logos figure out what's causing it to crash for some people. Could you retry it with logging enabled (see here) and post your log files (see here)?

Major problem
Downloaded upgrade but now programme will not load. - just splash screen which then disappears. No error message.
Could be a problem with indexer - I think I had this before & there was some easy way of fixing it.

Brian, please read my post above between your two.
It might be a corrupt index file, in which case deleting it and reindexing should take care of it, but let's see your logs to be sure.

Sorry - I don't know how to do this - How can I enable logging when programme does not get beyond splash screen?
I have had this problem with indexer causing a crash before & there was some easy fix that involved clicking on Indexer.exe (?) and doing some form of restore - very vague - can't find my post or reply.

I had a problem with crashing after the update, but I just restarted the computer and everything was fine.
Disclaimer: I hate using messaging, texting, and email for real communication. If anything that I type to you seems like anything other than humble and respectful, then I have not done a good job typing my thoughts.

Best to enable permanent logging. You do not have to have access to L5 to do this. Follow the directions on the page above to learn how to post your logs.

The process of enabling logging happens outside of the app... Otherwise Logos wouldn't be able to find out what is causing crashes before the app gets up and going...

There are many reasons a car can crash. The same is true with software. Just because you experienced a crash before and found a fix, doesn't mean the same fix will work this time around... Especially if the cause is different. Likewise, you may read in the forums that others are experiencing similar symptoms... Don't assume the problem is the same and don't assume the same fix. Several years ago my wife and I both gained some pounds... She was with child and I ate too much. [:D]

You don't need to do anything right now… there is nothing new to get. The last RC = the current release version. However… I would advise you to switch to stable anyways for two reasons:
- You must be on stable to receive service releases.
- If you remain on beta channel, you might receive an unexpected beta that you didn't intend to download. Personally, I wait until the first couple of betas have been released to see how others experiences have been.
For those reasons, it is best to switch over to stable until you are ready to join beta again.
