Syntax Search Unavailable?

I am getting the following message in my search window when selecting syntax "Syntax features are currently disabled because the necessary resources are currently unavailable." I cannot perform a syntax search but used to be able to do so. Anyone know what is happening? Running the latest iteration of L5 on Win 8. Thanks.

I am assuming since you used to do them, you have a base package that includes them. It may be helpful to try that function and then post logs. Another thing you may try is to force an update to resources by typing "Update Resources" in the command box. If for some reason you have lost a required resource, that should identify and download it.

Yes, I definitely do have the resources (L5 Platinum). Interestingly, the same workspace (layout) on my Mac version will allow me to run the syntax search. On my Win 8 machine, no. But if I close out the workspace and open just a search pane, the problem goes away. Very strange.

By workspace I assume you mean layout. If that is the case it sounds like the layout is corrupted. If that is the case delete it and rebuild it. That should solve the problem

I would enable logging and try the things mentioned in your post here. Then close Logos & post the logs. Some screen shots might be entertaining, er, informative too. (see my signature line for help on logging).

Thanks guys. Yes, I meant layout (had that in parenthesis).

I can't do logs right now, but here is what is happening. I was able to get to Syntax searching within the saved layout. Had the pane open all day. Just switched now to "bible" for a search, and then back to syntax and got the same problem. Screen clipping attached.

The problem persists. Here is a screen shot of the search pane to the left, which will not let me do a syntax search, and then a separate, dedicated syntax search pane on the right, which does show I have the resources and will let me perform a search. Very strange, and annoying. Logs attached.

When you open Help > About Logos Bible Software, what is listed under the heading "Syntax Search" in the scrolling list of resources on the left?

Pasting in below, but first wanted to mention that occasionally I am able from the search pane to get the syntax option, while other times I cannot. Here are the resources listed as you requested:

This bug should be fixed in an upcoming release. As you discovered, a workaround in the meantime is to launch a search from a Syntax Search document.
