I've written up a case. This seems specific to the Toshiba Thrive (or, more likely, devices with the same dimensions/resolution as the Toshiba Thrive)

Have you by any chance increased the font size on your Toshiba Thrive? I'm looking into this and it seems one possible answer is that the size of the title/verse text is being inflated by the font size preference on your device.
I've made a change that I think might fix this issue. It will be in the next beta, so once that is released, please let me know if you're still seeing cut off text.

You also solved another problem for me. The little square boxex in the title, when there was insufficinet space to display the entire title.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by little square boxes, but I did make some changes to how resource titles are rendered when they're too long to fit on the screen (we now use the abbreviated title in that case)
