Help!!! I cannot type Greek or Hebrew words in the search box of my logos 5
My logos version is 5.2 SR-4. My computer system is Microsoft Windows 8.1
I have followed the instruction about how to type Greek words in the search line, like "g: xxx", but the Greek alphabets didn't show up automatically. The words I typed are still English. What's wrong? Please help me solve the problem. Thanks a lot.

In which box are you typing?
In the screenshot below I show "g:logos" in two places - the top one is in the Command Box, the second one is in a Search Panel.
As you can see, the second one results in a dropdown menu allowing me to select the Greek word I am looking for, the first one doesn't
Does this help at all?
If not, please provide some more details

Thank Mr. Graham and Mick for your tips. Now I can find Greek words in the dropdown menu, as the attached image shows:
But I feel a bit disappointed, because I cannot literally type the Greek words but just the transliterated English. I remember that in the old version of Logos 3, the Greek input (typing) function is very good and easy to use. How come the Logos 5 canceled that function? This is really not convenient and comfortable for the user. Considering the serious and academic purpose of this Bible software, I think this function is essential and necessary. I truly hope the future version will restore the Greek typing function. May God bless the Logos team.

For most users, using the transliteration is a big plus instead of typing Greek. But you can easily type greek: switch your keyboard layout to EL to do so:
or use the free Logos tool Shibboleth and copy/paste over

Logos has nice keyboards designed to type in Greek and Hebrew. Not sure if they work with Windows 8.

Another alternative is to download and install the Logos Biblical keyboards then type directly in Greek (or Hebrew) by switching keyboards. You can find the keyboards by simply typing "keyboards" in the search box on the Logos site. That way you don't need to copy and paste.

Hello!
I'm having a problem where I type into that box "g:xxx" and nothing comes up in greek. A white box appears below as if greek word options are about to come up, but it doesn't come up with any. What am I doing wrong?

I should note that it happens when I'm trying to do a "lemma" search, and the "search in" box says, "all morph..." I can type the g:xxx fine when I'm not specifying the search. Am I misunderstanding how a morph search works...?

Let's be clear just what you're trying to do. Are you doing a morphological search of the bible or other resource or are you using the "find" box in a resource?

To clarify are you trying a search like below but with the drop-down staying blank?

Some questions:
- What version of Logos software are you using?
- On which platform (Mac / Windows)?
- What passage range and against which resource are you trying to do this?
- Can you post a screenshot as per http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot?

If you are trying to search as Graham has indicated, remember to leave NO SPACE between the colon and the first letter of your transliteration. Also, the Greek form will not appear until you have completed the transliteration (or at least enough of it so that it forms a Greek word). You will then see the Greek below—probably more than one Greek word from which you can select. If you can type Greek, I would recommend doing it directly. Logos has some nice biblical keyboards which you can download and install. They come with instructions on installation.

Here's a picture of what I mean. In the left example, typing "g:logos" doesn't change it to greek. It's trying to do a "lemma" search, although I'm new to the program so perhaps I'm doing it wrong. Maybe the picture can tell you that
In the right example below, the search isn't specified ("all text" in "entire library") and it does work and gives me the greek option of the word.

I can't really say why it isn't working for you. I tried it exactly as you did it on my computer using the SBLGNT which is not what I normally use, but it worked for me. I did notice a slight lag time before the lemma appeared for me to select it so I'm wondering whether your machine has enough horsepower to handle its demands. How old is your computer? What version of Windows are you using? How much RAM (memory) do you have? If you can find out, what chip does the machine have?

A couple of observations / questions:
The resource you are using is shown as SBLGNT. If I select that resource it shows in full as shown below
So I'm just wondering exactly what you are selecting as the resource. (but the difference in display may be due to the version of Logos SW. I am running 5.2A SR-1. Please check (using "Help About") and let us know
Also I note you are choosing a range called "Johannine Literature". How is that defined?

Presumably it's the one predefined by Logos. (I had the same thought, so I checked there was one.)
