Please note the folder name next time as this can be fixed by ensuring ownership If that fails right-click the Logos icon and select "run as administrator". The first fix is permanent whilst the latter will have to be done for every software update once you use it.

Now that Sascha is back in businesss (good!), I'm wondering why 'kai' would be a problem. I'm guessing 'dimensioning' that was copied over from another routine (since I'm constantly accidently searching the wrong word in hebrew and it successfully locating every millionth occurance).

The Swete LXX contains the word "καὶ" (and a handful of other words) in some non-Bible text between Enoch Ins Ch:5 and Odes 1:1; this occurrence was breaking the translation ring.

That's even more mysterious! (and none of my business). I'd hate to be the test suite designer.

The last time I reinstalled Logos5 I put it on D drive and had updated it a few times. This update, however, installed it to C:\User\... and took all day and most of the night. At first I did not realize that it was installing it to a new place on my computer. One download was 11.7g the next one 709m and all the indexing in-between. (There were a few other downloads of smaller size and indexing, but I don't know if they were of the update or what.) I tried my icon in my quick launch menu to open Logos5 but it said my resources were out of date.. and I needed to download and install Logos5. When I did that it said that my install was up to date.
I woke up early this morning and finally figured out what was going on, so I went to C:\user\... and clicked Logos.exe and it worked. Then I deleted the Logos5 on D drive, which made Logos5 fully operational after a few more hours, yes you guessed it, of indexing.
SO I WOULD THINK THAT IT IS BEST TO LET LOGOS INSTALL LOGOS5 WHEREVER THEY WANT TO INSTALL IT OR YOU COULD LOOSE USE OF THE PROGRAM AND COMPUTER FOR A DAY OR MORE WHEN IT UPDATES. (Apparently the update doesn't check for the previous installed location.)

How did you acquire the update? Via an automatic download, or did you manually download the app?

It was through automatic download.

If so, you should create a new thread and explain your issue... It sounds like a bug.

I may later, but now I am so far behind... I just wanted to drop a note in case others might have the same problem and not be able to access Logos.

My Logos has always been installed on a
/E: drive and the only issue I had was with an errant Beta a few years ago. So, your issue did not arise just because you have a custom installation. If you have the DigitalLibraryInstall.log in your Logos Log Files folder please upload it via the paperclip icon.

Windows 8.1 crashed a couple weeks after I activated my computer, I installed Logos with the default setting. However, when I had to reload everything, I put Logos5 and my graphic programs on the faster (SSD) drive for a quicker response, which worked well. When I install Logos5 to
\ I did not tweak any the user account file(s). Any thing that was done was done by the installation program. I now have another download, of which I have no idea of how large it is or how long it will take to load and if Logos will work afterward.

Oh dear. I almost never have Logos crashes. Since updating I am crashing regularly and I really need it to work right now!
Seems to have something to do with switching layouts--maybe.

Please attach logs. Enable logging because we need (Logos)Indexer.log and Logos.log

This is getting too complicated for the forums. Please contact Logos Tech Support and quote this thread.

I am having some grief with this release:
1. The 'Copy and Paste' function which to this point has been working very smoothly, only copies, but does not paste. I need to do that manually.
2. There are regular crashes, and every time I start Logos, and I have to restart a lot at present, it automatically minimises, and I have to expand it manually.
What's the story? This release seems pretty buggy.

Please create a new thread. Explain your issue(s) clearly, and provide the info you did here. You will need to enable logging, allow logos to crash, and attach the logs via the paperclip icon in the forum editor. See the link in my signature line to learn more about logging.

Hello,I am on a Mac running the latest version of Mountain Lion. I did the Logo's update this morning and now I am unable to login to Verbum. When I double click the Verbum icon the Signing in box appears then disappears and the program quits. When I first updated the program the sign in box came up with details saying that it could not login. I just pressed the login button and ever since the program has been unable to launch. There isn't even a little triangle under my Verbum dock icon. Here is a copy of my Log file.Feb 7 10:38:41 Petes-Mac-Pro.local Verbum[546]: Logos Logging is not enabled.Feb 7 10:38:47 Petes-Mac-Pro com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[
252] ([0x0-0x44044].com.logos. verbum[546]): Exited with code: 1 One other thing, I also did an upgrade to my account this morning adding resources to my library.I have to say that I am disappointed in the Mac version of Logos it has always been buggy.Thanks0 -

See the Mac link in my signature in order to enable logging. Logs will be necessary before anyone can provide assistance.
Also, please start a new thread. Your problem will become lost in this crowded thread which deals with a different subject.

Same here, crashy, I just spent a frustrating day with Logos 5, it turns light gray every time I excess it, then a minute wait or more. Most of the rest of the programs are also running slow. If I close Logos and log off and back on, all the other programs work find.
Is there a way to restore it to the previous version?????

To explain this a bit George:
Logos is comprised of a software engine and data files. When the software engine is to blame, most often it is because of a "bug" and would typically effect many users... Or at least many users who fit the right (in their case wrong!) set of circumstances. Sometimes there is a problem with the download and installation of the engine, but that is fairly rare and can be fixed by re downloading the same engine. The more common problem, however, is some form of corruption of the data files. It could be a corrupted database file, layout, or resource. Downloading an old engine <might> solve problem # 1, but it won't solve problem #2 (Which is more likely).
There is, of course, a third cause of troubles... Hardware/software troubles on the host computer.

I had to delete Logos 5 and reinstall it, but it cured its crashiness and many other problems. It is slower than on the SSD; but Praise the LORD it is working and is usable.
