  • Gnosis on the Silk Road: Gnostic Parables, Hymns & Prayers from Central Asia by Hans-Joachim Klimkeit
  • The Jesus Sutras: Rediscovering the Lost Scrolls of Taoist Christianity by Martin Palmer
  • The Lost Sutras of Jesus: Unlocking the Ancient Wisdom of the Xian Monks by Ray Riegert and Thomas Moore

All three received considerable attention such as NPR reviews so they should be somewhat familiar.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Wow! Pretty nifty group.  I don't know where you find your books!

Taoist Christianity would be especially interesting.

I read some of the reviews and clearly the 'Taoist' book had bumped up against the 'Nestorian' team. In what appears to be a reviewer's huff, he suggested  'A History of Christianity in China' by Samuel Hugh Moffett, 'Christianity in Asia before 1500' by Ian Gillman and Hans-Joachim Klimkiet and 'By Foot To China' by John M.L. Young.  [I've no knowledge of any of these nor if they even relate.]

I think moving into China from the west, and also Korea/Japan/Phillipines from the south, would certainly be helpful. A lot of Logos' current 'worldly' offering is mission oriented (which indeed is needed). But knowing how they got there is also highly valuable.

Attractive to the ecstasy of western theological arguing? Hmmm.
