I'm considering buying one of the new MacBook Airs. One my primary uses will be to run Logos 5. I have never run Logos on a Mac.
Is the MacBook Air a good enough machine to run Logos 5 efficiently?

Yes. It works very well. Good choice Jacob. I've been running it on my MBA 13" mid-2011 for over two years now.
Go for it! I've got a mid-2013 MBA i7 8GB RAM 512GB model and it runs Logos just great. It loads up Logos nice and quick to a blank layout, and performs searches quickly too.
You can pick up some decent deals for the mid-2013 model as they've just done a refresh.
Also check out the Apple refurb store as the stuff they sell is like brand new (really!) and you get the same guarantee/warranty as if it was brand new.
Buy the most RAM and biggest HD you can afford when you buy a MBA because some things aren't upgradable after purchase.
Absolutely, and having a solid state hard drive makes all the difference.

Thank you all for the recommendations. I just ordered one.
14 day return policy was the kicker. Hoping Logos works well.
Based on the recommendations I did splurge and go for the 512 GB and 8GB
Plus ebates was giving 4% cash back today...so I sorta made money on the deal ;-)
A 14 day return policy might be useful for a faulty machine.
You might bare in mind that you will be moving to a new way of working and probably a new way of thinking with your Mac.
I moved from RiscOS to Windows (bad move)
About 10 years ago I moved from Windows to MacOS (breath of fresh air)
But I had the expectation of a smooth operating system and a logical procedure.
I must warn you that 10 years on I am still discovering new facets of the Mac that I didn't know about.
One thing I can tell you is that the operating manual will not take long to read.
