So much for consistent author names

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

There's also Jerome == Jerome, Saint == Saint Jerome.

And Saint Patrick seems to have one book where 'Saint' is treated as a surname, while The Life and Writings of St. Patrick with Appendices, Etc. doesn't mention him as author at all.

Oh, and looking at your screenshot again, I don't think 'Martyr' is a surname either...

And Abélard should have an accent on the e. I currently have two Abélards in my library, because my PB has the name spelled correctly, and I refuse to corrupt it just because Logos has.

I can replicate this with John Chrysostom, but I can't with Dio Chrysostom. What are you using in the find field of the panel? They aren't the same person so I'm unclear why you're including it as a repeated name.

    Mea culpa re: Dio Chrysostom.

The shot is of the library panel with a filter

The first one, that's gotten John Chrysostom wrong, is a Vyrso book. I bet it's that very same one that's gotten Justin Martyr and Abélard wrong as well.

EDIT: Your incorrect Abélard, that is; mine comes from another book.

It's not less of a surname that Chrysostom is.

Good call, fgh. (though I'm not sure what you mean in your EDIT). I think this is because the bibliographic information isn't come from us, It's coming from the publisher. I'm checking to see if that is true or if it is because John Chrysostom is an author in an Edited work that individual case.

They are both incorrect. They should be listed as John Chrysostom and Justin Martyr. All patristic and medieval writers with such names are (or should be) listed on the first name.

I mean that I don't own that book. The incorrect Abélard without an accent in my library comes from The Love Letters of Abelard and Heloise.
