My Dream Windows 8.x Tablet that runs Logos
- Runs Logos 5.x or 6.x well.
- Cool even after using 1/2 hour or longer.
- Runs Windows 8.x
- Front facing dual speakers with good sound quality on either side
- Under $300.00
- Great display that can even be seen or viewed outdoors even in bright sunlight.
- Small bezel (meaning makes good use of entire screen).
- Windows button on bottom to toggle between desktop and Metro interface.
- Wacom Digitizer Pen that doesnt need batteries and comes standard with hardware at purchase.
- USB functionality on keyboard without having to hook up another keyboard
- Sound button on side to turn sound off in church pew or Bible Study quickly.
- A windows Logos version that reproduces what I highlight with my android cellphone version perhaps even crossing platforms (though this is not a total necessity)
Probably forgot something and I sincerely doubt anyone but us will ever read this...but here's hoping.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 11 inch hybrid which has proved man enough for the task, the pro would be better but am well happy with it and not too heavy either but the touchscreen seems to be working well for me so far

Thanks Dominic...not sure that qualifies exactly as a Tablet but appreciate the input and reply.
121 looks at this post....many want something good, cheap, cool-temperature, powerful, good display, and useful it seems.
Wonder what will come down the pipeline we can use Logos on effectively one day soon.

The big point I don't think you will get around on your wish-list is the sub $300 price tag with a digitizer.
There are only 2 Win 8.x tablets that I'm aware of that fall under $300 with a stylus: ASUS VivoTab Note 8 and Dell Venue 8 Pro (these run $250-280, but Dell sells the digitizer pen separately).
Both these systems are only 8" and are also hamstrung with just 2GB of memory and an Intel Atom processor (while the new Atoms handle multitasking better than the earlier versions, it's still going to be like driving a 3-cylinder car up a mountain road when throwing Logos at it). That being said, I am looking on getting an ASUS T100 (has similar hardware, but larger screen, keyboard dock and no digitizer for $400) for portable reading (not planning on using it for any extensive searches).

I have the Asus T100, and its a nice tablet. Works great, no problems with it. I'm also very happy with the long battery life of over 10 hours with the screen on.
However: the basic model has only 32GB as harddisk. With Windows and Office installed, there's no space left for Logos. It is possible to install a micro-SD card and install Logos on the SD-card. However, that is very, very, very slow. Starting Logos takes minutes.
Running the Logos Android app using BlueStacks works great. It takes half a minute to start Bluestacks, but after that the Logos app runs very smoothly and responsive.

Thanks for the heads up. ASUS just recently refreshed the line and so far reviews are looking better than the first run (majority of people are saying the trackpad issues [other than the noise ones] seem to be resolved). Finances are tight for right now, so it's not something that is going to happen in the near future. Hopefully something better will come out, because $400 really is my limit and I need something with full Windows (not RT or Android).

Did you try to install Office to your SD card and change the Logos to the tablet 32GB drive.
I don't know the size of your SD card, for my Reader I use a Galaxy Tab 3 16GB with 64GB SD card but my Logos is on the 16GB and other Apps and files I store on the SD card.
This works good for me I have 950 resources download on the tablet also..

FWIW: I think if I were shopping for a Windows 8.x tablet, I would be patient and wait for new models based on the upcoming Intel Broadwell Core M processors. Intel just demoed a reference design that was, "thinner than the iPad Air or Macbook Air, coming in at 0.28 inches (7.2mm) and 1.4 pounds with a 12.5-inch screen. It’s also fanless, as Core M only requires passive cooling."

My Logos directory is over 42GB, so that's not going to fit on the main drive. But anyway, running the Android app via Bluestacks works great.

I'll throw my hat in here. I went with the following setup and run full logos on it. It runs slightly slower than my desktop.
Dell Venue 8 Pro 32GB, SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB MicroSDXC, Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810, Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse
I copied the resources ahead of time from my desktop to the card. Then I installed the software on the card using the tablet making sure to uncheck automatic updates. Then I copied the resources into the folder for them and opened logos and scanned them. I let the tablet index them itself, initial index took 12-13 hrs. I have been able to update and everything since then, it even downloaded 5.2b last night with no problems.
The ONLY thing I struggle with is highlighting when I am not using my mouse. The benefits of using the full program on the move far outweigh this single con for me.
Super cheap solution for me, and having full logos and all of my resources in the palm of my hand is insane. If I need to do more work I throw the mouse and keyboard into my bag and bring it along. I'd still rather use the desktop for most in depth work, but I am tickled with my mobile solution.

I suggest downloading touchmousepointer. It allows you to use the entire screen as a touchpad...and best of all...It's free. Then you just double tap to highlight.
I too use the V8 Pro and find it an amazing portable device.

Interesting. Very interesting. Tanner and Paul agreeing I mean. I also like the idea about waiting for thinner and lighter too above. The Dell Venue8 would be nice to hold in my hand (or something soon) so I can just temporarily abandon my hefty "hot" original Surface Pro. Just a reader with full Logos on it would be nice...so close to a new school year and nothing cheap, powerful, temperature cool, and unbuggy announced yet.

I suppose thinner and lighter would be an advantage. (Note the V8 is .35 inch and .87 lb.) However, I am not known for patience. I chose not to wait. And so far I am content with that decision. My $200 investment has already provided me with months of cool service. I think it will take some very impressive technological breakthroughs to entice me to trade up. I just got a T100 last week. I got the 64GB model and also got the additional 500GB keyboard. The hard drive built into the keyboard is handled as a USB 3.0 device. I am not a Logos expert, i still use Libronix 3.0. I dont know if you could install resources onto the keyboard HD. But if you could, it would no longer function as a tablet. You would always have to have it attached to the keyboard. And IMO that negates the value of the device. Much nicer notebook computers can be found for less money. The portability of the tablet is what you are paying for here.
The first thing I plan to do is to delete the backup and system recovery partitions (after backing them up). Then using the entire 64GB for the OS drive. I cannot imagine what people are thinking when they buy the 32GB version. But if all they do is a little web browsing I guess it would be enough.
Honestly I never had any intention of installing Logos on it. Logos is a huge monstrosity that I don't even run on my Core i7 desktop due to poor performance. You have to be realistic. Bibleworks will run on it ok, but even that is a bit bloated when trying to install onto a 64GB SSD.
I do believe that I will be able to install most of my frequently used desktop apps, along with some efficiently written Bible software. If I can do all this on a tablet with 10+ hours battery life, I will be very happy with it.
So far the largest drawback is that it runs Windows 8.1, and the memory limitation of only 2GB of RAM. I purchased a USB 3.0 docking station that has Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI (among other things) so that I can use it on my desktop like a real machine. Then I can just take the tablet with me when on the go.
After I get it all setup I might try installing VMWare and running Libronix 3.0 in a stripped down XP virtual machine. The Bay Trail processor, unlike the older Atom models, has the Virtualization extensions built in. Not sure if this is feasible in only 2GB of RAM but we shall see [H]
Thanks for the tip on Bluestacks. I had never heard of this and may check into it.

I have nearly this exact same setup except I'm using a Motorola Bluetooth keyboard. Like you, after the initial install it works very well. I ended up having to install Logos 5 to the SD card since my internal memory (64gb) wasn't enough for my library and a bare bones set of apps and Windows. The performance took a slight hit, but it is definitely usable. One key that I've discovered is that when installing or updating, be sure to set your power plan to always on when plugged in and then plug it in for any install or library updates. Otherwise, the tablet hibernates and will not complete the current process...I spent several days on my install because it kept stopping every few minutes.
