DIY Reading plan visual filter really doesn't work.
Has anyone used the DIY Bible Study Reading plan from Faithlife? The visual filters that show Start and stop reading plan really don't work. If I click on today, I can'y find the stop reading - but if I scroll back up, as I have scrolled very far down, it is there. Then the next day shows - same thing - I scroll way down, then come back and it appears.
There's is something wrong either with this resource or the reading plan filter display for it. I use reading plans a lot, and my others are working fine, so I know how they work.

Here is a ZIP file of a MOV movie I took with my phone. Watch this - The "Stop" for tomorrow should be right before "Why you should care about Exodus". I scroll down - it's not there. I scroll down just a little and come back - it's not there. I scroll down a lot, and come back up, and it's there! I go back up to the start, just so the Stop is barely out of the way, scroll back down, and it's gone! It only reappears if I go far down and come back.
All I am doing in this video is moving the scroll wheel of the mouse. This is on the SR-1 release of 6.0a that just came out today, but it's been there awhile.
File is in my Dropbox, it's about 4 MB zipped.

And here's another video of a weirdness. It's a short 8 second video. It shows on my Home Page, the next reading is Tomorrow, Reflections on Exodus: Is God There? I click on it, as you see, the Start Visual Filter is there, but there is a Stop above it from the prior reading session! And there will be no Stop in the correct place until the old one is clicked.

Has anyone been able to look at this or have a comment? Is it acknowledged by Logos as a bug and is on the list to address? I am afraid this will be overlooked.

Anyone? This seems like a pretty big error why won't anyone reply? Was this improper to post, too many bigger issues, should I delete thread since it will be buried soon? Where is QA?

Hi Don;
I can confirm this problem, but we will have to wait for Logos to respond with a solution. I took a couple of screenshots to help explain this issue.
This screenshot shows the missing "Stop Reading marker.
This screenshot shows the "Stop Reading" marker that appears after scrolling a page past the point that the marker should be, then scrolling back up.

I can confirm this one also. The issue presents itself throughout the reading plan. It is mysterious in that it will disappear, then reappear once you scroll beyond the point the "Stop Reading" marker should be.

I've noted they don't always work well since about L4 or so. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
I always assumed they were just slow responding. I'd have to go to the home page to check off what I'd just read to get the next start/stop point to show.
I never reported it; I simply tolerated it. I'm glad you reported it...it would be nice if it worked correctly every time. I've spent quite a few minutes working on reading plan stuff...reading plans are one of the most important parts of Logos software, in my opinion. Too many people have bought too many electronic books in Logos format for the reading tools not to work well.
Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river.

Like Doc B I have experienced this problem too Don, but have not gotten around to reporting it but simply followed a similar workaround while tolerating the situation. Thanks for raising it, hopefully this will get some attention and a fix.

Thanks folks! I hope Logos chimes in to let us know.

This is less of a priority for me now. I deleted the Reading Plan, all it does is frustrate me to use it, which defeats the purpose of reading the resource in the first place.

Thanks for the report and the videos. I've created a case to investigate this problem.

I've just found this thread after a few weeks of thinking I was going mad! I too have the issue of missing 'Stop Reading' banners in the DIY Bible Study Plan. What's particularly frustrating is that they keep on appearing and then disappearing again as I scroll up and down trying to find them!
This is after having used a Bible reading plan for the last two years without single problem.
I'd be very interested to know if there's likely to be a fix for this particular function.

Hi Andrew;
Has there been any progress on this yet? Any hope for a fix in the near future?
Thanks

I have implemented a fix for this internally, but I don't know when it will be shipping publicly yet (it will likely ship in a beta build before shipping to the stable channel). We will update this thread when it does ship publicly. Thank you!

Thank you, Chris;
At this point, a beta fix will be most welcome and appreciated. [:)]

The fix for this will be available in the 6.2 release, which should be shipping next week.

was it ever fixed?

I just got a note from John Barry, so I used the instructions in the beginning of the DIY resource to grab a fresh copy of the reading plan, and started. So far so good, it seems fixed to me after 1 day!
