Bug: Word Count format incorrect in Excel

When a Word List is exported to Excel the format of "Count" is unusable as a number
It is formatted with an apostrophe ' and I have to use =NUMBERVALUE("'21",".","'") and F2 to manually convert each cell to a number.

Both my mac Excel (2011) and windows Excel 2010 allow to convert the column of text numbers to a number by selecting the column than the click on the pull down for the caution and choose "Convert to number" as in the image below. Have you tried this?

that is slower than using =NUMBERVALUE("'21",".","'"). One setup I just repeat the key sequence F2+Enter to go through all the cells.

How is it slower it? It is just two clicks, select the column (C) then select "Convert to number"does the entire column.

did the apostrophe belong in column B?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The caution box did not appear when I selected the column i.e. by clicking the column identifier (C). Now I see that shift-selecting the column from row 2 down does the job as you describe!

Looks like this was overlooked earlier, my apologies. I'm creating a case currently, but is there any particular reason you use "Save as... Spreadsheet (Excel, etc.)" rather than "Send to... Microsoft Excel"?
I'm able to reproduce the issue with the Spreadsheet option, but it works correctly with Send to Excel. Is there any functionality difference between the two options that you would prefer Spreadsheet?

Send to Excel still has the "disappearing" bug in 6.0b!

This should be fixed in 6.1 Beta 3.
