In NOTES, for the sake of keeping uniformity in conventions (especially Windows conventions) we ought not have an X as the note deletion key. X is used throughout L4 to close windows, panes and panels. Now, all of a sudden X deletes material. Better to have a trash can icon or the word delete so as to prevent accidental deletions when one wants merely to close the Notes pane. Just a thought.

I agree - this change has been requested at least a couple of times

In the beta all these deletion x's are now red. It helps.

In the beta

I see this phrase from time to time...what does this mean? What beta?

Thanks!  Roger

Beta means the user testing for the next version of the software. Those willing to be guinea pigs download and install it (Read: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/8883.aspx ). We get to see the features that are being developed before general release. We also get to encounter bugs before they are quashed by the developers.

Thanks Kevin.  As a non-techie I forget that software is always being improved, updated, and tested.  I appreciate the explanation.

Well an alpha is pre-beta, so guess who's doing the heavy lifting??

I quote from the source of all wisdom and information, the all-knowing wikipedia:

Beta

"Beta" is a nickname for software which has passed the alpha testing stage of development and has been released to users for software testing before its official release.
