• Re: Should Faithlife use Kickstarter instead of Pre Pub?

" Should Faithlife use Kickstarter instead of Pre Pub?" as long as it doesn't turn into Bibliotheca ;)

  • Re: Should Faithlife use Kickstarter instead of Pre Pub?

Concerning prepub, as the older folks would say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." This kickstart thing does not look appealing at all. It might work for the kids' "project" but not for books that are published in Logos format. And this kids' "project" if you can't afford it don't start it or else you're going to have some more people getting laid off...
That being said, Prepub could take some ideas from Kickstarter. In general, I think Prepub (not community) prices could be lower and you could offer higher tiers with more rewards.
I agree with this.
Meaning mine, or in general?
Faithlife do not understand why SQLite databases become corrupt; whether used as resource indexes or otherwise. They are usually fixable, which shows that the corruption is related to content and not the file system.

  • Re: 3 suggestions
1) There are a number of resources I'd like to read front-to-back. It would be nice to have a notes file or reading list where I could put the titles of those resources. They would be clickable so I could open them. It would also show my progress in the book and allow me to delete it from the list after I'd read it. ...

Hello Geo. Thanks for the support! Hi Logos friends. It's me. I'm the problem. My animation team and I are the ones animating Bible Sounds. Yes Bible Sounds is a bit of an experiment, but a very thoughtful and rooted one. It started with the question of, "what would kids content look like from a Faithlife perspective?" The answer was easy, it would...

  • Re: Visual Copy Issues

I agree that it can be confusing. I have long argued that verse of the day art (and similar) should have a separate tab. Often users find those and ask questions like: "can I change the verse or translation"? With that said, I wonder if this is a licensing issue. It may simply be that you don't own that slide.

I backed the Kickstarter for 'Picturing Scripture' and I backed this one too. :) That being said, Prepub could take some ideas from Kickstarter. In general, I think Prepub (not community) prices could be lower and you could offer higher tiers with more rewards. For eg., there is a recent prepub that bundles in Barclay's 'The Gift' with a couple of other...

  • Library column headers to sort search results

It is nice to be able to sort resources by rank, count, relevance, but I can only imagine how incredibly useful it would be to sort it by any of the headers available in the library window (e.g., subject, tag, date, etc,). Of course, many of the column headers can be emulated through search terms, but it requires how to keep up with proper search syntax...
It wasn't long for a full reindexing
The log shows it took 5 hours for the Library indexing to complete normally (no Bible indexing needed) i.e. problem now corrected, but the cause of corrupt indexes is unknown!
Indexing is roughly equivalent to the number of resources you own, divided by the speed of your computer. In general, and so long as your computer isn't acting up.
It wasn't long for a full reindexing. It was long for what I thought was no more than a couple Vyrso titles.

  • Re: NICOT/NICNT Bundle Sale [Accordance Bible]

They did not match Anchor Yale Bible Commentary for $750 from another competitor. I doubt they will match this one either. However, they did come out with a $19.99 per volume sale not long after the competitor's sale. There is, of course, the always mentioned "added value" of having the commentaries in your Logos Library, and the seamless interaction...
it seems I got another log first. Strange....
I have had this happen after I quit Console with a log file still open. I have developed the habit of closing open log files prior to quitting Console. Of course, you and Bama may have some other strange gremlin.
So it was a complete reindex. Interesting. Any idea why?
The indexer log shows you are on Mac Beta 6.10 version 2. There are recurring problems with the implementation of the new "mono". See the forum there. My advice: wait patiently for a next beta and do not index at the moment. FWIW, Hans
