  • Louw Nida Number Incorrect

Good Morning, I am using Logos bible Software 5.2 SR 3. As I was studying the word "touch" in Mark 10:13, I right clicked and chose the Louw Nida number 14.56 which returns this definition: 14.65 ἅπτω; περιάπτω; ἀνάπτω; φλογίζω; καίω b ; ἐμπί(μ)πρημι: to cause the process of burning to begin —‘to ignite, to kindle, to set ablaze, to start a fire, to

  • Visual Filters in L5

I just upgraded to L5. I have three visual filters to highlight words I am studying. One of them is not showing up in the Bible text any more. When I use the 3-circle drop-down menu, only two of my three filters are listed. How do I get the third one back on there so I can use it again? Thanks!

Good Morning, I am beginning a new study on "Divine Emotion". My first task is to identify all the Greek/Hebrew/Aramaic words for emotions.I have limited "emotions" to words that express happiness, sadness anger, and fear (the four primary emotions). • How to find synonyms of Greek words?

I am sure there is a simple way to do this but I can't figure it out. How can I find synonyms for Greek words? For example, if I am studying the Greek word for "grace," I know how to find all occurrences of the word in the NT. But how do I find Greek synonyms for the Greek word I am studying? Thanks for any help! Blessings, Dave

  • Re: What is meant by ...

A gloss (from Latin : glossa , from Greek : γλῶσσα glóssa "tongue") is a brief notation of the meaning of a word or wording in a text. It may be in the language of the text, or in the reader's language if that is different. A collection of glosses is a glossary . A collection of medieval legal glosses, made by so-called glossators , is called an apparatus

  • Re: Hidden Gotchas?

That was pretty much forever ago, but I don't remember having bad feelings about the program, but I recall the query engine was kinda lacking. I think I tried Logos 3 and thought "wow this is a lot more like SQL" (yes that does make me an uber-geek). And then when I saw all the resources available I was hooked. I've often heard it said that Logos is

David, I think your hints are too cryptic, like I was with the Major / Software company I used to work at. :) But I started with the same software :) I can't go completely without a VM because I'm an Army officer, and both the forms software and geospatial software we use are Windows based. But if I can keep it to just that I'll be living large :) Thanks

First, thanks everyone for your responses. They were most helpful. I think I'll plan on exclusively using the Alpha, and rebuild my virtual machine. Joe, I worked like some of your compatriots at a certain extremely large software company famous for eating its own dogfood (which ironically makes me a Mac user!) so I have a fairly high tolerance for

  • Hidden Gotchas?

Hi all, I am a very enthusiastic but relatively new (about 6 months) convert to the Mac. Like many people, I have a virtual machine available (Parallel Desktops 5), but I screwed up my Windows 7 install, and will likely re-create it. I'm also trying to run natively as many things as possible. Therefore, I have just installed the Mac alpha. I am a far
