  • Re: Concordance search for a Greek word

Thank you so much Graham! I followed 6your instructions and met with success. About Logos 6 - I am a Logos 5 Platinum user, so I have tons of books and resources already, more than I will ever use! I did download the Logos 6 engine months ago, but just recently learned that the engine does not provide me with a lot of functionality of 6. What to do

Thank you. I did finally find the Logos 5 installer, tried to download it, and received an error message, "Installation of Microsoft.NET Framework did not succeed." Any suggestions?

  • [resolved] Install my current Logos 5 on new computer

How do I install my current library LOGOS 5 on my new computer? I can see download instructions for Logos 6, but I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT upgrade my library. I did see that I can install the core engine for Logos 6, but will that work with Logos 5 and if I do that, should I then follow the instructions to download my current library? Thanks so much for your

[quote user="Disciple of Christ (doc)"] Personally I didn't think the Vivian there was any concern with your question, you said you had researched the topic in your dictionaries, found limited information and wanted further thought on the topic. The only thing I would suggest to make a question forum friendly is to finish by asking people what Logos

  • Re: Birthday celebrations

Thank you, everybody. And Tom, I did not know that I was breaking the rules to ask about these kinds of things. So I am sorry if I was out of line. Is there any other Logos forum where we can have honest spiritual discussions (after our own efforts in research,of course)?

  • Re: Birthday celebrations

Thanks, Don! That's pretty much how I see it too, but I have been challenged by a couple of friends to come with a Biblical acceptance of celebrating birthdays. These friends believe that they are entirely pagan, and t/f it is a sin to celebrate them. I am more drawn to Col 2:16-23 than to anything else (esp v 16) - but I thought I'd check it out and

  • Birthday celebrations

Is there any reason Christians should not celebrate birthdays? I have checked all the dictionaries I own. Some say that celebrating birthdays was a common feast for everyone in the OT, a time of rejoicing, others say that the celebration of a birthday was reserved for royalty (and scripture refers mainly to pagan royalty, with the exception being Job

  • Re: A Kindle Fire app?

Well, I am about to give up. I did all the steps that Daniel so graciously laid out for us, but I still wind up at Google play and they tell me that they do not support Kindle Fire. I have tried for 2 weeks now to get the app, have run up against the same wall every time. Disappointed.

  • Re: trying to restore old Logos 4 data to a new download of Logos 4

Thanks to both of you. Dave - after reading your reply, I suspect that your "old" method worked after all - I had saved an old forum note you wrote to someone else and used that when I first tried to restore LOGOS). But I wasn't sure of it since it didn't index. I thought it would restore already indexed. OH well, doesn't matter. It didn't take anywhere

  • Re: trying to restore old Logos 4 data to a new download of Logos 4

It didn't work after all. It might have downloaded all the books, but it did not index. So I downloaded it on my PC, and went the long route. But I made a huge mistake and opened up my laptop before I reinstalled it on my PC and... (are you groaning?). Well, of course it was synchronized to the latest PC status, and poof! There went my laptop too! So

  • Re: trying to restore old Logos 4 data to a new download of Logos 4

Well, I don't know what happened, but the two files were both in my Logos data file, and Logos picked up the one that had all my books and indexing - and my library is working just fine! And it is all indexed! I am amazed! Thanks for your suggestion. Didn't need it after all.

  • trying to restore old Logos 4 data to a new download of Logos 4

I just did a complete computer restore and downloaded Logos 4 again. I saved the Logos 4 data file on an external hard drive before I restored my computer. I killed the download of books just after it began (per instructions from Dave Hooton that were given on the forum a long time ago). I am trying to delete the new Logos file in my Users/App/data

  • I have a Bible question

Not sure where to ask this. Does anyone know off the top of his or her head how long it was between the time that Moses stood on before the burning bush at Mt Sinai and when Israel left Egypt? Did the dialogue with Pharaoh last days? Weeks? Months? More? Sorry if I am asking this at the wrong place. And thanks ahead of time for your responses. Vivian

EVERYBODY - Thank you so much for all your wise answers. I did order the series and will be excited to hear it. David - I am not sure how to reply to everyone. So am sending this as a reply to you, and maybe the others will see it too?

  • Luke Timothy Johnson

I am looking at The Teaching Company's download of CD's on Luke Timothy Johnson's book, Early Christianity: The Experience of the Divine. Has anyone heard this lecture series or can you tell me if Johnson is a credible scholar as far as early church history goes? Please don't laugh at that, I know that he has won several awards, but is he one who can

Gary - sorry I did not get back to you till now. Been sick. I was advised by one of the Geek Squad tech people at Best Buy to try googling Visual CC++ Runtime Error and see what happened. So I did - and I did find one. I downloaded it and have had no problems since then. The update was for the 2010 MS Office. I do not know if there is an update for
