  • Re: Off-topic funny text comparison.

Found the site – a bit further on they complain that the RV, RSV and ASV drop some words – and “forget” to mention that the same words are ‘dropped’ in the NASB, NIV and others. [and it is not because they do not know of the NIV for it is the NIV that they “pick on” in the very next criticism] [Trust nothing you find on the INTERNET until well tested

It has been awhile since many of my hard copy Bibles have seen the light of day [figuratively, it is 9 PM] but as I was reviewing Matthew 24:27 in the Douay Version in Logos 4 I got stuck on a word' Matthew 24:27 27 For as lightning cometh out of the east and appeareth even into the west: so shall also the cowling of the Son of man be. Found this on a Logos 4 thread: [we have both but they are both titled NIV] Mark Barnes Replied : Today 2:56 PM Billy Staggs: Ok, I was able to manually download the NIV2011 but it also show up in Logos with the same title as the NIV1984 just like it did in on my one of my computer with Logos 4. How do I edit the title in Logos3? It's an L4 feature

In the 'other thread' the call has gone out for everyone to drop their bid to $80 - and hope that all the others that want this set will 'come out of the woodwork and bid' and get many many many bids at that level [and YES, the set is 'worth' more but at the higher price too few are willing to pay] [I want this set but 80 is the most my budget can take

  • Re: Your bid ...

[quote user="Mark Barnes"] Yes, but my original position stands. If everyone who was willing to pay at least $80 went ahead and bid what they were willing to pay there wouldn't be a problem. The issue you describe would only occur if there are people who are willing to pay $80 but don't bid $80 because the highest point on the graph is above that price

[quote user="Charles Stoker"] Many disappointments. Too much info at one time. Picked it up last July ['Commentaries for Biblical Expositors'] There are some 300 plus commentaries in my Logos Library and (fortunately) they do not all show up in every search.
