David, Similar kind of problem, but not the same as before. I clicked File in the menu, got a beachball and the program crashed. This is similar in that I wasn't really doing anything other than selecting a menu item. Nothing else running on the machine at the time other than Safari and Activity Monitor. Here are the logs. Congrats on the Gold and thanks

  • Re: Recommendations

I would definitely go with the 15". I'm in school and carry my 15" MBP everywhere I go. It's not very heavy and the extra screen real estate is good for my old eyes. On RAM, I'd go with as much as I could afford. I have a late 2008 machine with 4G RAM. I sometimes get a lot of page swapping if I have Safari or Mail open at the same time as Logos. I

  • Re: Copy/Paste Hebrew not accurate

David, This is not a Logos problem. It is a Pages problem; Word for Mac does not support right-to-left text. As everyone mentioned, Mellel displays right-to-left text great, but then again, it's an Israeli company, so they have a vested interest in Hebrew displaying properly.
I suppose another alternative is to simply type

  • Re: HELP - SLOW & CRASHING Logos 4 MAc

Gary, when you get to Camp Logos tomorrow, let Morris Proctor know that you've been having problems with the Beta installation on your machine. They always have a bunch of Windows machines there for participants to use. If he hasn't committed all of them already, I'm sure he would be happy to have you use one. The Win & Mac versions are similar enough

  • Text wrap on gloss of word in NA27

I realize that this word wrap problem is a function of the window width (half-screen on 15" MacBook Pro—it works just fine fullscreen!), but thot you should see it anyway. Seth

  • Random crash of RC2

This morning in class I was attempting to put in a new scripture text in NA27 w/Gramcord. Tried to select text box to type in the new text when the program stopped. After waiting more than a minute (?) I forced a quit. Program restarted normally. I only report this because I've not had this type of crash before and I'm using RC2. Thanks for the hard
A request: I would love to be able to advance screen by screen through my resources using a key or keys in such a way that there is a one or two line overlap—a similar thing to Google Reader where I can advance screen by screen using the spacebar.
Gene, you should be able to do that. You can't go backwards with Shift

  • Crash when updating resources

This afternoon I updated resources. When notified that there were new resources to be installed, I clicked OK and the program closed and did not restart. (Doesn't it usually does restart? Can't remember.) The close seemed more like a crash than just a close—too quick and not like it usually closes. The new resources evidently installed OK because at

  • Re: Why is the Mac Version so Slow? 8/25/10

Just another data point. The slowness I see is in trying to scroll a resource. I notice this most often with linked Bibles, particularly if linked resources have visual filters. The logs and layouts.db I'm including tonight show the same delay with a book, not linked except "link to other panels" to highlight scripture references. In the 3 attached

  • Missing font

In Interpreting the Fourth Gospel by Gary Burge there is a text/font problem. The lower case "p" (circled below) should be a black triangle. I have tried several different fonts to see if any would correct the problem, but haven't found any that would. Font was set to default. Tried all the common fonts (helvetica, arial, times new roman, geneva) as

Tom, the program is much snappier. Thanks for all the hard work! I'm attaching logs for the gray panel problem. This is the first time I've seen it. After reading yours and Dewayne's last posts above I decided to move between layouts to see how quickly B8 reacted and I got a blank gray panel. Couldn't duplicate again. (You may find some funny errors

  • Re: Menu disappears when changing selection type

Tommy, I guess I showed my ignorance here. I've not looked at a paper lexicon in years (good job Logos!) and just hadn't thought about how the article is entered in lexica. All the text I questioned above is correct. Of course the article shows under the masculine form in the lexicon. Duh! My comments were just wrong. Sorry for sending you on a chase

  • Re: Menu disappears when changing selection type

Tommy, you might have someone take a look at the interlinear and parsing on Galilee as well. It's a feminine noun, so it should have the lemma feminine article ἡ, not the masculine ὁ. The manuscript line of the interlinear is correct, but the lemma line of the interlinear is not. If the context menu picks up info on the Greek behind the ESV from the

  • Re: Search doesn't show in NASB "standing before the LORD"

Mark, mine seems to work fine. Both the WIN and Mac versions find 10 verses (3 of the specific phrase) in both basic and Bible searches. The b in bthe when you right click the selection is the b superscript note reference in the text. That's the way it's displayed in that panel. Don't know if that's intended or if it will change as the interface continues

David, while you all are working on the information window, don't forget the text problem with info from HALOT that I pointed out here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/21044.aspx Thanks! Seth

  • Re: Beta 5 Pinwheel of Death

I'm not seeing the problem in the Exegetical Guide, just in the program in general. I have LXX, BHS, NASB95, and NET linked, and HALOT, BDAG, and LEH LXX lexicon open with them. I right clicked on a word in the LXX, selected the LXX lexicon as the resource and got a spinning beach ball. Although not doing this specifically, I've not been able to use

  • B5: Morphological Search problems

Using morphological search crashes Logos 4 Mac B5. The search criteria window will not close even though the search is in progress. Pressing escape, closing search window, pressing enter seem to have no effect. Also, I've mentioned this before, but the search results groupings still have no title. BTW, love the updated icons! Thanks for the new beta

  • Re: Beta 4 - Same Old Information Pane Truncated Display Bug

In the same information pane as Alan's (although I don't get the truncation) there is some mixing of text. Note 1st line of HALOT in top pane and the first line of the 2nd entry in the information pane. They should be identical, but it looks like the software thinks the "(330" is right to left text and puts it at the end of the first line as "330).
