• Re: Make It Easier to Filter Library Using Collections

Sorting by size of collection does tell me which of my collection best matches my keyword. A thing not possible in Logos7. Alphabetical listing in my view should not deprecat this feature.

Some highlights had stopped showing up for me at some point after a major Logos release or so. i can see them all coming back to show up with this release. What is showing up could be the forgotten ones.

  • Re: Make It Easier to Filter Library Using Collections

So I played around with this a bit, trying to unlearn Logos 7 and relearn for Logos 8. IF the collection names are named after some common metadata of the resources they carry (which happen to be mostly true for me), typing that keyword in the top search box will filter and sort collections by the number of matching resources. I see this as a great

  • Favourites Do Not Sync

Favorites sync only to Logos App and not to FaithLife or Verbum. It synced once to FaithLife App partially and stopped. I have tried restarting, reinstallling. Latest iOS on iPhone 8 Plus.

  • Re: Make It Easier to Filter Library Using Collections

I have a large number of collections. Their names start with a number to get them listed in the order I want in the earlier versions of the app, and also in the collections tool in Logos 8. I do not use a space in names. A habit I preserve from the olden days when early versions of windows used to cause problem in file names with space, or even modern
You can use the search function of the facet filter to easily identify those collections. For example, I have one of those for commentaries on Romans, named "66 Romans". Typing 66 into the facet filter will bring it up and allow me further filtering/sorting etc. Does that help?
Thanks for this. One has to remember though

  • Make It Easier to Filter Library Using Collections

Sequentially named collections were my primary way filtering library in Logos 7. It was also very easy to find and use collections on Logos 7. Now the collections are way down in the left pane in the Library Tool. Also they are not sorted. Finding the right one is a pain. Collections do not list in search. Please can collections be shown on top, and

  • Speed - Mind Your Collections (Thanks Mark Barnes)

I read somewhere from Mark Barnes <not able to find link to that post> that Logos caches collections at startup, and bad collection rules and unnecessary collections can adversely affect performance. While Logos 8 was way fast for me at startup and on run than Logos 7, I decided to try cleaning up my collections. I cleaned up all my rules, and

  • Re: Resources on How to Write A Book

Thanks to all who provided guidance. I am finding that very helpful. As to why Logos: I use Kindle platform for secular books and prefer to have that segregation. When something is related to Bible I prefer that to be in one place which for me is Logos.

  • Resources on How to Write A Book

Please suggest any books in Logos, if not elsewhere, that I can leverage to guide me on how to go about writing a book on a Christian subject, that I am tasked with. Grnerally I believe I can write and present well. The ask is more about guidelines for book authoring. Also any suggestions welcome.

IMHO FaithLife should consider acquiring and supporting BibleWorks.

  • Re: Completely Lost on Appeal of Tabbed Reading

FaithLife should consider adding a setting in the mobile app which would let the user choos between single versus multiple tabs. Another setting could allow a resource for example a bible to be locked in a given split.

  • 'Yielded' in Matthew 27:50 - Merely an Idiom?

Matthew 27:50 yielded up His spirit - An idiom meaning “died.” This note seem to dilute the fact that Jesus voluntarily gave up his spirit, unlike any other human. in my opinion, the note should be fixed to reflect the voluntary act of Jesus Christ.

What Faithlife is missing here: When a Customer has his or her needs met, it is all green for him or her, irrespective of whether how Faithlife wants to think about it. Faithlife wanting to forcefully label a customer as 'lacking' is offensive. Simple state what the customer has without labelling it As lacking. it is sad that Faithlife can trust its

  • Re: OT231: Isaac and then Jake and then Joe?

    1. This certainly is not a good example for any culture to emulate, or encourage. Will we tolerate the world calling revered biblical characters with such casual names? 2. It makes it harder and not easier for it to be understood by other cultures where at least a small portion of Logos customers are. 3. To my knowledge a name is a name and it is not

I hope mobile ed will not make it a requirement to know a particular culture and its slang to understand the courses other than the Ancient Near Eastern and Greeco-Roman broadly speaking. These two itself are enough of a challenge. Just joking!
