Hi Dan, Can I ask where you are getting that NIB text which you are copying and pasting into your postings? Is that from the CD offered directly by Abingdon? If so, do you think that is worth having while we wait for Logos to publish the NIB? It looks like it might be a long time before we see the NIB on Logos, and I may need to

Thanks Mark. For me it is the one serious limitation of the Logos system. So much of my work is on the road and I would really like to keep all my info with one application. Here's hoping it will get attention in the near future. On this, I also sincerely hope that Logos will not go the paid/subscription cloud server route for these files. If they do

Thanks Mark. 2 questions. 1. Can the backed up books be transferred to a 2nd PC or do they need to be recompiled on that PC? 2. If yes to the first part, can the backed up books be used with the mobile apps by tranferring them to my devices?

Dan, once again, thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Thanks Michael for a helpful response
That is hard to say, I use a variety of commentaries from a variety of denominations. (I like to see what everybody says) On a side note, glad to see more South Africans aboard! I spent some time in East London a few years back doing some mission work.
I agree. Multiple commentaries from a variety of perspectives

I would like the NIBC
NIBC was recently rebranded. It is now called Understanding the Bible Commentary Series. Only NT is available in Logos format at this point in time: http://www.logos.com/product/5123/understanding-the-bible-commentary-series-new-testament EDIT: OT Set is on Pre-pub: https

I'm open to suggestions for a commentary series. I'm in the Methodist Tradition (minister of a inner city church) and I stand within the more liberal tradition. I don't have the luxury of many dollars as my stipend is in South Africa Rands which doesn't go very far - I thus need to make a well thought through purchase. I favour writings from Abingdon

Dan, I'm curious to know how you compare the NIB with the Word Biblical Commentary which seems to have a lot of support among logos users.
-
Thanks Dan. That's most helpful.
-
@Dan I own the original IB in print and am curious as to how it compares to the NIB in theological stance. Thanks for the snippets you've already posted. If you get a chance please post or pm me an extract from Hebrews 6:4-6. Thanks.

If so I would be very dissapointed as I personally would to see a lot more titles by Abingdon Press. My number one choice for my library.
-
Just signed up for the pre-pub.

Okay, that answers my question in that I can only search for attributes in the resource and not resource type.
-
I'm wanting to do a basic search for "rain" in a possibility of two collections. I tried ... rain AND (collection:illustrations OR collection:dictionaries) But the results came up nil. It seems I can't search using fields that describe a resource; only fields that are within a resource. Is this correct? Or any other ideas?
-
Thanks for clarifying. Never sure if I'm missing something
-
Thanks Mark. Hopefully this will one day get the attention of the programmers.
-
Thanks for the reply. That seems to copy everything. I just want to select part of the text (and hopefully with it a reference such as other copy and paste functions)
-
Is there a way to select text from the Bible Word Study Window so I can copy it to the clipboard?

When I search using "Entire Library" I get results in four sections: Topic; My Content; My Books and Library Results However if I narrow the search such as "All Open Resources" it limits the search to only My Books and Library Results. Is there a way to get Topic and My Content to show up regardless of the search parameter?
