  • Re: Apple Silicon M1 Chip

I'm in a similar boat - 2011 iMac, 2013 MBP, neither of which can run Logos 9 (surprise!) and a 2019 MBP. I also have a couple of Windows boxes, but those aren't ideal for study. If it helps with your decision, we should know shortly even in this forum how well Logos 9 works on the new M1 chips. It probably runs fine through Rosetta 2. If Logos is designed

I would love to hear an official reply on this! Technically, unless it's changed, Logos is a C# app sitting on top of Mono on the Mac. Mono supports ARM ( https://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/supported-platforms/arm/ ) so it seems technically feasible to have a native version for the M1. The real question, is FL actually doing it? :) I need

  • Re: CRASH: Late 2013 MacBook Pro, MacOS 10.14

You know what? In my Hebrew course I had a lesson in prioritizing resources, so I changed my Top Bibles, and now the problem seems to have gone away, so I wonder if it's a problem with a specific resource instead. Since you have the crash too, what are your current top Bibles? I can see if I can find the breaking one. BTW, I also am a Chinese Bible

Oh never mind, I see you have a Mid-2014. Guess I should figure out how to add that to my thing... :)

Oh good! Well bad. But good that I'm not alone with this problem :) Hopefully, they will get back to us then. Do you also have a Late 2013 MBP? Yours in Christ, Dion

  • CRASH: Late 2013 MacBook Pro, MacOS 10.14

Hi all, This is essentially a re-post. Was hoping the next version of this would fix the crash with Mojave. Pretty easy to reproduce. Just plug a passage into the "Enter passage or topic" (I used gen 1 1). It brings up the passage guide, does the cool highlight thing then crashes. The OSX crash window indicates assertion failure: Application Specific

  • Re: Crash on OSX Mojave

Well, thank you! Something else I didn't know in Logos! With 32 resources, it was pretty easy to go through and determine the culprit. It's the "Compare Versions" component. Which kind of make sense with the error, that opens a new window. I don't see an easy way to edit that, to determine what about Compare Versions is crashing. Any more suggestions

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I'm not an expert either. It is able to load up in other layouts - seems to be something specific to passage guide, just not quite sure what and passage guide loads a bunch of stuff :) I tried changing to another version of the Bible and that didn't make a difference. Thanks, though... I appreciate the really fast response

  • Crash on OSX Mojave

Hi all, Could have sworn I encountered something like this before, but I can't find it, so maybe it's a known issue: Environment: MacBook Pro 15", Late 2013, Mojave, 2.3ghz i7, 16GB Ram, Logos 7.18. Issue reproduces with just the laptop, as well as connected to an external monitor. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put "gen 1 1" in the Passage/Topic box. 2. Passage

  • Re: NEW MAC OPERATING SYSTEM: MOJAVE

This is my first time running it since I updated, but yeah. It's crashing on me when I plug a passage in the home screen. Is that happening to you? I'm running this on a late 2013 MacBook Pro. • Text-To-Speech on Mac broken

Hi all, I'm pretty sure I posted this before, but different language now :) I'm taking Hebrew 1 through RTS Global Education which uses Logos. The problem I have currently, and I had previously in Chinese, is the Mac text-to-speech operates very weirdly in Logos. When I press Option-Escape instead of reading the current selection, it seems to read the

  • Re: Hidden Gotchas?

That was pretty much forever ago, but I don't remember having bad feelings about the program, but I recall the query engine was kinda lacking. I think I tried Logos 3 and thought "wow this is a lot more like SQL" (yes that does make me an uber-geek). And then when I saw all the resources available I was hooked. I've often heard it said that Logos is

David, I think your hints are too cryptic, like I was with the Major / Software company I used to work at. :) But I started with the same software :) I can't go completely without a VM because I'm an Army officer, and both the forms software and geospatial software we use are Windows based. But if I can keep it to just that I'll be living large :) Thanks

  • Re: Hidden Gotchas?

First, thanks everyone for your responses. They were most helpful. I think I'll plan on exclusively using the Alpha, and rebuild my virtual machine. Joe, I worked like some of your compatriots at a certain extremely large software company famous for eating its own dogfood (which ironically makes me a Mac user!) so I have a fairly high tolerance for

  • Hidden Gotchas?

Hi all, I am a very enthusiastic but relatively new (about 6 months) convert to the Mac. Like many people, I have a virtual machine available (Parallel Desktops 5), but I screwed up my Windows 7 install, and will likely re-create it. I'm also trying to run natively as many things as possible. Therefore, I have just installed the Mac alpha. I am a far
