• Web app nice on iPad

This is not about a problem for a change... If I'm sitting at my computer (Windows), I never use anything but Logos. But I don't carry it around everywhere like I do the iPad, primarily for reading -- where the IOS app works great for books one at a time (or 2 synced in split window). But for Hebrew/Greek the mobile app is not so good and seems to have

  • Re: Indexer Crash

Actually, this did seem to work (it only failed before because my copy was truncated by a full usb drive): (1) copy the working LibraryIndex folder from the second machine (2) delete the BibleIndex folder (3) Start logos and let it index. It finished, logs look OK, and searches for texts in newer resources are working. It seems like, whatever caused

  • Re: Indexer Crash

Dave, I already sent (in zip file with Logos logs) the .wer (Windows Error Report) which has a lot more detail than the General tab of Event Viewer. So I attached another file (not zipped, not that big) which has event details per those instructions plus some more. I believe that the issue is indeed a memory access violation. One interesting thing is

This isn't good. I notice that without an index, even searching in an open resource for a text I see on the page returns no results!

I did find some windows description of the crash, not really a crash or core dump, but maybe (barely) better than nothing. 0284.AppCrash_LogosIndexer.exe.zip

  • Re: Indexer Crash

This did change but not fix the behavior. It no longer crashes. But now it indexes for quite some time without finishing (building LibraryIndex, BibleIndex seems to have rebuilt OK). It does complete without logging any errors. If I restart Logos, it starts indexing from 0 again. In looking at the log, it seems this time the indexer is just exiting

  • Re: Indexer Crash

It looks like the problem happens when trying to merge supplemental index with full index (at least that's my guess). I have a second machine that has the same issue. It puts out somewhat more in the log (listing various resources as it goes through them), and showed more of a progress when indexing (probably because it was more resources to download

  • Indexer Crash

I am getting an indexing crash which show as follows in the log file: Error ID: 6143 Error detail: CorruptIndexException: Document ID is out of range. I tried deleting the LibraryIndex folder, but got the same error (and now no index!) I did note several metadata warnings in the logos.log file along the lines of: 2018-12-01 08:31:14.6196 5 Warn MetadataServiceUtility

I notice Gesenius' Lexicon also crashes (in fact, I had this open before doing the upgrade, so could not run the program at all until I deleted and reinstalled it from scratch, losing in the process all my previously downloaded books). Maybe it's a generic problem with Hebrew?

  • Re: Laptop purchase questions

Personally, I love resolution no matter what, especially for Logos. I mostly now use a Sony Vaio-Z with a 13" (!) 1920x1080 screen. (Those Sony's are pretty good with their typical 1600x900 as well, after all it's only 13", but are also expensive). On the other hand, I also have Logos running on an iMac 27" within Parallels/Windows7 and that runs awesome
I can't connect either. Downloading the two aforementioned godaddy certificates did not work at all. Of course, it's not possible to upgrade any software without logging in. I can't think of any good reason why this would have changed...
Well, my fault... My clock had been reset to 2007. Apparently that was enough

After thinking about it, I was pretty sure this would be possible. Who would you contact to do something like this? Sales? In any event, I think I'll order the new set. Thanks.

I also have the Hermeneia 43-volumes (40 + 3 upgrade), for which I paid (I think) about as much as the current package offer. I don't think I have the Continental Commentary set, so I would have a pretty good benefit from the package. But it would be the first time I double-bought something that expensive. Maybe I could give the old ones to someone

Thanks Dave for all the in-depth technical responses to these various questions on the forum. Inasmuch as I did not really trust my XP installation that much anyway (and was largely only running Logos there), I blew it away and installed Windows 7. Then I reinstalled Logos4 (using actually method "2", which took me less than an hour for 32+GB of stuff

This XP installation is only used infrequently. What I had done recently was to install a Logos 3 package (from Concordia) in order to "unlock" it. (It involved two old-fashioned Logos 3 "keys", only one of which was accepted by my normal notebook/windows 7 installation.) The XP package in question proceeded to upgrade itself to 4.0d as well, and went

  • Logos 4.0d Crash

As others have reported, this Logos 4 installation now will not start up (since Logos 4.0d and maybe also some Logos v.3 updates I had to do to install some purchased items). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ".Net Framework 3.5", and also tried clicking on the logos4.msi to "reinstall" (that complained that it couldn't reinstall since it wasn

  • Re: Logos 4.0d Footnotes missing superscripted footnote number

Actually, what I notice is this. With previous versions, if selected/copied text had existing footnotes within the copied section (and the protram setting "copy footnotes" is set to true), those would come out with "double" subscripts (the numbers being the same as they were in the orginal text). Then the overall copy/citation would get a footnote with

  • Indexer keeps giving up

I have tried a few times to re-index logos4 on XP (running on a Mac under Parallels) without success. After getting a large part of the way through, it gives up with the following lines in Logos4Indexer.log: 2010-06-09 19:25:33.1562 4 Info Program Received check command event; processing command. 2010-06-09 19:25:33.1562 4 Info Program Next command
