  • Re: Cannot Delete Personal Book from Library

I recently had this frustration and realized I couldn't delete a PB, because it was open in a tab! Once I closed the tab, I right-clicked the title in the PB tool, chose delete, and it was gone.

Peace, brethren, We have this wonderful list of datatypes of the Church Fathers here: https://wiki.logos.com/Author_Datatypes ...but, unfortunately, have to specify author AND individual work in a milestone search. In other words, this search for "Christ" in the Orations of St. Gregory works: (Christ WITHIN {Milestone <GregoryNazianzen Gregory Nazianzen

  • Re: How to Search Writings from a Specific Church Father?

Thanks, MJ. This is definitely a good start, but as you noted, imperfect, because it still searches the entire NPNF volume with ALL of the Church Fathers' writings in that volume. I think the answer lies in milestones, but it needs some further development from the Logos team. We have this wonderful list of datatypes of the Church Fathers here: https

Thanks, John, this is quite useful for browsing the Early Church Fathers collection! How do you use it to search only specific Church Fathers, though?

  • How to Search Writings from a Specific Church Father?

Peace, brethren, I am trying to create a collection or custom search for the purpose of searching through the writings of a specific Church Father, such as St. Athanasius. It's easy enough to add monographs that contain only writings of St. Athanasius in the collection, but how can we handle collections, such as the NPNF series in which each volume

  • Re: Patrologiae Graeca v.1-18 now available

Thanks, Denise. Yes, I saw that when I ordered, but I was confused with the statements here, which said it was "now available" and "available for Logos 8 users." Why are you on the fence? The Diamond upgrade was not too bad for me, since I had already ordered ACCS, FC, ACW separately and had a Verbum Master base library. For me, the addition of Ancient

Great news! I ordered Orthodox Diamond 8 last night, but still don’t see any of the volumes. Where can we find them?

Thank you for the quick reply, Phil. No problem at all. You’ve had a busy week with all the updates. At least I know it’s not only on my end.

  • Logos/Verbum 8 Crashes with iOS 12.1

Hello, Just wanted to report the the Logos/Verbum apps seem to have a problem with iOS 12.1, which was released today. They were working fine yesterday, but after today’s update, both of them crash when starting up on my iPhone X and iPad Pro. I tried restarting the device, resetting the workspace, and force quitting the app multiple times, but

  • Re: How to Add Deuterocanonical Books to Range?

Thank you both for your helpful responses. I was specifying a range, because I always keep the LXX as the default for the OT. Logos has a wonderful feature that allows me to choose which version of the OT is used in my default reading and also the Copy Bible Verse service for Mac. That is why I wanted to specify the OT books to be handled by the LXX

  • Re: How to Add Deuterocanonical Books to Range?

It seems I was able to solve it immediately after posting. For those wondering how to do this, the range would be Genesis to to Pr of Man (Prayer of Manasseh, which seems to be the last book in this translation.)

  • How to Add Deuterocanonical Books to Range?

Hello, I am currently using the Brenton LXX as my default Old Testament Scripture. It is prioritized and set with a range of "Genesis to Malachi." Since this Bible also includes the Deuterocanonical books, I would like to add them to the range, but I cannot figure out how. Can anyone help me formulate a range that would include these works? Thank you

  • Re: Optimizing Logos 7 for Speed?

Personally, I hope the Logos app will be further enhanced to take advantage of multi core processors and the increasingly large amounts of memory that ship with today’s Macs and PCs. On my 8-core Mac Pro with 64 GB (a video editing machine), Logos barely uses the available resources. It would be nice to see the CPU and memory loads increase!

Dear Philana, Thank you for your reply. When I took the screenshot, my Program Scaling was set to 100% and my Content Scaling was set to 110%. Oddly, when I reverted the Content Scaling to 100%, it seemed to fix the problem. One would have thought that this is a Program Scaling issue, but at least on my machine, the Content Scaling has an impact. Hope

The good and helpful folks at Microsoft were quite receptive to this bug report that I filed with them directly. They were able to reproduce the issue and marked it as a bug on their end. Hopefully, that means it will be fixed soon.

I can confirm that it is no longer working with the latest version of Microsoft Word (16.11) and Verbum (7.13). What's interesting is that other services seem to work (such as "Add Text to Evernote" and a few others I tried.) I agree with the original poster in encouraging Faithlife to take a look at this bug. At the very least, let us know what the

By way of update, I just did a clean export from Logos to a Word (RTF) file. Without opening that file, I use the "Place" feature to put it into an Indesign document, and lo and behold, this script was visible in the text of the document: Sub MakeFootNotesAuto() Dim f As Footnote For Each f In ActiveDocument.Footnotes f.Range.FootnoteOptions.NumberingRule

  • Renumbering Logos Footnotes in Microsoft Word?

Hello, Forgive me if this question was asked elsewhere; I tried searching, but could not find any other discussion. On my Mac running the latest versions of Microsoft Word (15.39) and Logos (7.10), I'm having difficulty working with footnotes in an excerpt that is exported from Logos to a Word document. Thank God, the export works well and the resulting
