• Re: OT: Intriguing article on digital Bibles
I have an older couple who are distracting with their paper Bibles in church. I can tell when I say something they differ with in a sermon because they both start whispering to each other, checking out their notes, cross references, and the concordance at the back of their Bible! Many would find that more distracting than
Ditto, brother. Even using the forums to distract from writing at the moment. Here's a thought to discuss: Logos should open up their eBook spec so that others can make compatible software and/or content to interact with the Logos platform[, and if they don't, they're not acting like a Christian company / ministry / giving

  • On Forums neglecting work

You know you love a product when you spend an inordinate amount of time with it and neglect the needful things. I spend too much time reading the forums and need to better organize my time. So please no more controversial post in the forums as they draw me like a moth to a flame (everybody loves a little drama). Any thoughts? Maybe controversial ones

3666.Create.docx I edited my last comment to clarify my position. I do not think I can convince you and I don't think you are going to convince me. I do believe ex nihilo is correct.
Enns (again, an Evangelical, not some European agnostic liberal) goes on to say, "Biblical scholars are generally in strong agreement that the conventional translation of Gen. 1:1 is wrong (“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” [NIV]). This implies “creation out of nothing” (ex nihilo; cf. 2 Macc. 7:28 ), which
Hmmmm, let's see ... 14,000 posts x 5 min/post = 70,000 minutes of total posting time 70,000 minutes x 1/60 hours/min = 1,166.67 hours of total posting tine 1,166.67 hours x 7.25 $/hour = $8,458.33 (based on US min wage) Dave, too bad Bob doesn't compensate you for all that you do.
Moreover, it assumes that Gen 1:1 (without mentioning the alternative) teaches creation ex nihilo [again, something most scholars now reject],
Is there another alternative? Did God find some substance lying around and decide to use that? I know liberal scholars believe God is limited but who are "most scholars"?
That attitude certainly wouldn't make me want to be a customer.
Are you objecting to the company's' gracious act? I could see a point in finding fault with the actions of a person taking something that is not theirs, however, when grace is bestowed upon the undeserving, why complain?
