  • Theology Guide Question

When I select the theology guide and enter a topic it only generates 1 or 2 systematic theologies. I have a number of Sys. Theos. is there a way to access them in this report? I have used the "collections" I have reacted as well as "all systematic theologies" in the field. Thanks

  • Re: English Definitions Only, No Greek/Hebrew

Sorry to keep posting on this! It appears that the word look up works with some verses/words and not others. For example, Acts 20:21 selecting words produces the empty box. Then when I move down to Acts 20:24 and select a word it brings up the word information. I am using the ESV. I am selecting words that are in the original...not words added to smooth

Dave, I am having the same issue. The initial window with word info and parsing shows up blank, with the option to do a word study, but then quickly just turns into an English defintion. The same thing that happens when not connected... I have been on three different networks streaming music and doing online searches... Also, my Iphone running the current

I think this is due to a Pages update, not Logos 5.

Annie, Forget my question! I see what you are saying now. Thanks again for the pictorial!

Richard, I would also be interested in labels that indicate ambiguity. I suppose that means a lot more work for those guys with their nose buried in the Book! It would also mean a lot of labels! Thanks for you response to my post earlier this morning.

Kevin, I agree... it would be nice to have some sort of system stave off endless discussions. Plus those notes might highlight further area's of study... Haha! I didn't realize this morning when I posted that it would be such a big deal. It has been fun to interact with other Logos users and examine Scripture to see if these things are so!

David Paul, If what you said is true, there is zero possibility that this is an embellishment, then, according to you, God did say, "Do not touch the fruit." (assuming the pronoun 'it' is referring to the fruit of the tree as opposed to the tree itself...) Thus, in verse 6, when the woman touched the fruit she sinned because she directly violated a

Annie, Thanks for the picture... I am a visual learner and that helps! Hehe I am no Hebrew Scholar either so this question may be totally ridiculous... could the use of the second person plural here (You shall...) be referring to both Adam and the woman in this context? i.e. "you all (both) shall not eat..."

  • Re: Speaker Label, labeled wrong in Genesis 3:3

David Paul, Just so I understand then, Eve or more accurately "the woman" sinned at the moment she touched (v.6) the fruit since there is zero possibility the phrase "...neither shall you touch it..." is an embellishment. How does that affect the logic and implications of your second paragraph? That is, what changed categorically for "the woman" between

alabama24, Is this something I can highlight within L5 and report as a typo? Or does that only work for the text itself? Thanks

  • Speaker Label, labeled wrong in Genesis 3:3

In the ESV there are two speaker labels for Genesis 3:3, both of which have God as the one speaking. The first is in reference to when God said not eat of the tree (correct). The second label attributes the phrase, "...neither shall you touch it...", to God. (wrong) Ironic?! I believe Eve is the one who is speaking at this point, which would make sense

Ryan, Thanks for your response! You have not repeated anything from the other thread. I have 8gb of ram as of the last crash there was apporx. 3gb free. I have a 750 gb hard drive with more than half available. Sometimes I have other programs open, but it doesn't seem to matter.

I had posted in the thread about L5 crashing when using the Bible Sense Lexicon, however, the crashing seems to be more sporadic. L5 just crashed again. I had several resources open, one of which was a word study on "false witness" in the NT. When I clicked on the pronouncement speaker (i.e. to hear how the word was pronounced it crashed.) 2728.Archive

Dave, Thanks for the response. I am new to this reporting thing... If I understood your directions here goes: I am studying a Exodus 20:16 from the ESV with the reverse interlinear open on the bottom. From there if I select either "deception" or "witness (legal)" the BSL opens, sometimes and will stay open for a short time. Sometimes it just crashes

2870.LogosError.log I just noticed this as well. I have a certain layout that when I use the sense lexicon it crashes. If, however, I just open a bible on a blank workspace and use the sense lexicon it runs fine. Wait... As I was typing that last sentence it crashed from the open layout! I think I have the latest update (5.0a SR-1 5.0.1.0241).
