  • CP - John Brown of Haddington

A great community pricing set John Brown of Haddington that unfortunately is stuck in the low-bid dumps at $30, just over $2/volume for 13 volumes, one 29 pager, a 290 pager, and 11 over 300 pages. Not a lot of "small stuff" with only a handful of substantial works sometimes seen in these sets . This is a full one. A shame to see it so under appreciated

  • CP - James Durham - Get your bids in/up

The arrival of Classic Commentaries on Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs in community pricing, including James Durham's Clavis Cantici: An Exposition on the Song of Solomon beings great joy and sadness at the same time. Two other community pricing sets with titles by Durham are languishing for lack of interest and, in one case, bids that are too low on

  • Re: Awesome! James Durham

Unfortunately neither of the other community pricing items with James Durham titles are getting anywhere soon. Classic Isaiah Commentaries Upgrade is stuck at 40%. For 18 volumes containing almost 9,000 pages $40 is a bit one the "cheap" side even for public domain items. I think $60 is more reasonable, just over $3 per volume. Selected Works of James

  • A. W. Tozer readers rejoice (?) - Works of A. B. Simpson on CP

Glad to see a CP collection of works by A. B. Simpson, whose life and preaching/writing had a great influence on A. W. Tozer. Then again, with as much Tozer as I have now thanks to Logos do I really need Simpson too? https://www.logos.com/product/53619/life-and-select-works-of-ab-simpson

  • New on PrePub - Bethge's full length bio of Bonhoeffer

https://www.logos.com/product/53922/dietrich-bonhoeffer-a-biography I'm glad Logos separated this from the Bonhoeffer Studies collection that is going nowhere as a pre-pub. Hope this, the best volume in the collection, does better on it's own.

  • New on PrePub - IVP "New Studies in Biblical Theology" series - 35 vol.

https://www.logos.com/product/53670/new-studies-in-biblical-theology Based on the asking price for most of these volume in print form this is a fabulous bargain. I've been tempted to embark on acquiring all in print form - Logos timing is perfect.

  • Re: John Gill Commentary

[quote user="Phil Gons (Faithlife)"] We decided to add it to Baptist Platinum and Diamond and Collector's Edition before it was funded and allow the sale of those packages to fund the rest. Not all of the titles had been produced when we shipped Logos 6. The plan was to finish them all and then ship the CP, since it's already effectively been funded

My Note 3 received the 5.0 update yesterday. Sadly my 2 year old Note 8.0 looks dead with respect to updates. And it appears Samsung will not produce midsize Note tablet any longer.

The James Hastings 5 Volume Dictionary is similar to the Gill collection - not reached CP production level but included in one or more Logos 6 base packages with a promise the pre-pub or CP item would be finalized in the near future and successful bidders at the final price would get the product at that time - and the Hasting set vaulted through the

  • Re: New English Edition of Schürer's History

Another plus of having the newer translation/edition in Logos is proper tagging of academic works from the last 20 years or so that usually cite references in the newer edition. In some cases (see below link) it is either not possible to have a Logos tag to Schürer because the edition cited is not in Logos or a tag can be mistakenly created to the old

  • Re: Misprint!! Why does E. Schürer get special treatment?

Be aware that there are two English editions of Schürer, both originally published by T. & T. Clark. The edition available in Logos is the MacPherson translation, which dates from 1905 and is therefore a public domain publication. The imprint is "Time", not "Age". This is the edition you've probably seen for sale from Hendricksen for a cheapo cheapo

  • Ethics - One big reason I love debt-free Logos Bible Software

Family Christian Stores filed Chapter 11. http://tinyurl.com/lcmb8mm Just finished reading the article, including how many millions publishers of Christian books will have to swallow so FCS can keep all of its stores open. Thank you Bob for your commitment to remaining a privately held firm and, unless something has changed, debt-free.
