  • Re: Crossway Sale

I am a lay leader in a small church plant. Retired, I hold graduate degrees in analytical chemistry and environmental engineering, so I can comprehend technical level writing, although I don't have Biblical language skills. Many of the Crossway publications (and Logos in general) tend to have an orientation or favor a Reformed position (hence the recommendations

I work with a specific sales person. He indicated that, like the note above, he had to enter each volume individually - he could not do a single entry purchase on the set as indicated by the Logos rep above. In addition, he was NOT allowed to solicit or notify his "regulars" of this offering. His customers had to call him and specifically ask for the

Yes - same problem with Widows 7 64 bit on Dell Core I7. Reentered my password - no luck. Sever must be on maintenance or down.

Michael - Suggestions from one who has recently purchased several base packages - One approach is to select a general (non-denominational) base package (Gold or above to get all the data base and language features). Then with a promotion (that may still apply), if one orders a base package, one can concurrently choose from a group of selected additional

David - Obviously, each author will have his own particular theological bent, but the previous suggestions all have merit. A great book for an overview of the whole field of theology - not just systematic - is Moody's Handbook of Theology by Paul Enns. One might find some useful material in it, and urge you to take a look at it. Two other texts to consider

Rosie et al Sorry for the confusion. Mr. Prichett is still a main shareholder, in a private company. However, with at least the third rebranding, I believe there may have been some reallocation or redistribution of internal shares (see abondservant's comment). A good description of the company/software evolution is found at this Wikipedia link : http

Gao - Thank-you for the redirect to this thread which I had not seen. It certainly verifies my concerns. I still think in the end it is all about revenue - and predictable revenue streams. Not necessarily a bad business decision - but perhaps not at all in the best interests of the customers - especially those such as myself who have invested heavily

Denise - Thank-you for your consideration. I certainly support the over-all effort to utilize to the extent feasible the application of modern technology to enhance the study of God's Word, and the effective proclamation of the Gospel. However, to purchase and thereby endorse a product just because it becomes available, with the number of unknowns including

Re: Previous questions/comments on Logos Now : This is nothing short of the Adobe model, and what they did with Photoshop CS6 - no longer available as a separate package. One is now on the hook to either 1.) pay for the "privilege" of beta testing for Faithlife, 2.) "rent"- not own - the program - and lose all newest features if one stops paying rent
