Mike, I heard a similar claim from somebody at Logos, so I don't blame you for believing it, namely "No. Because of required server security updates, older versions of Logos can no longer connect to Logos' servers. You'll need to run the latest version of Logos 7 or Logos 8." Yesterday I accepted the free book of the month on Paul from Logos. Very soon

UPDATE: I used a hard drive to copy 7.13 LOGOS app from another computer, then put it in the problem computer. It worked & I got messages that like 1 GB of data was being downloaded & 64 updates. Seems my 7.13 now shakes hands with Logos.com & receives downloads from it. Praise the Lord The download process took some time as the library

Another thing occurs to me.. I do have & can use Logos 7.13 in the computer I watch YouTube with. Maybe I can just copy the whole app as such on a hard drive & move it to this computer that way.

Mark & friends, thanks for taking time to reply. I had this same problem about a year ago. I had forgot. My mid-2010 MacBook is not compatible with El Capitan. If I try to download a higher than Yosemite, it destroys the computer until I reload Yosemite. I bought a thumb of drive Yosemite before because of the same problem. I am surely able to go

  • Logos 7.13 Works, later Logos 7 does not; where can I download 7.13 ?

I made the mistake of accepting the "free Logos 8" as an upgrade; but Logos higher than Logos 7.13 is apparently incompatible with my MacBooks 2010 & 2011. Then I got the notice that I had to upgrade my OS to use Logos 8. So I stupidly did it, only to destroy my computer because it won't work with the newer Mac OS. Why did Logos direct me to do

  • Re: Do I need to buy Logos 7?

I have made a lot of my own categories. But IMHO, it is not for me to be jumping through hoops, studying these or those complicated directions. LOGOS should make it simple & intuitive to create a library with categories, simple to edit & change. Accordance has done that. I still need Logos for its large library of ancient Greek texts. But organizing

  • Re: Do I need to buy Logos 7?

Thanks, but having the word "library" does not constitute a library. I require an organized library, categories, sub-categories, sub-sub categories, etc. Incidentally, as a rule a list should not have more than 7 items. IF you have more than 7 items, the need to be put into categories. So a long grocery list, is not what I call a library. Compare the

  • Re: Do I need to buy Logos 7?

IMHO, a big problem w/ Logos is that it has no way to easily make a library -- it has no library at all! Logos is like a big room with many, many books, but just scattered around on the floor in a mess. Accordance has a library with categories and subcategories. & it looks like Logos 7 still has NO LIBRARY -- just a mess. I bought Logos because

  • How can I get 2 commentaries side by side?

I think I was able before to get Alford's Greek Testament commentary in one column & Alford's English commentary in a side-by-side column. Now for the life of me I cannot. I can get either Alford's Greek or Alford's English commentary in the right column, but I can only get Bible translations in the left column. Frustration! How can I get what I want

  • Re: Mac Download Problems Metathread

OVERHEAT? My MacBooks tend to get hot when sitting on a flat table. It helps to let air pass under them. For example, raise the MacBook with some Lego bricks. Otherwise, if heat is your problem on a long download, why don't you blow a fan on your MacBook? One of my bankbooks I have raised up several inches with supports front & back allowing air underneath

Μαrk thanks, for the answer. But I don't see anyway to get to such a resource menu for the first, the narrower, search window so that I could stretch the first window (the search results) wider. Thanks

  • How Do You Know What Resource You Have After a Search?

I did a search of my whole library for the greek string apostas* (actually αποστασ*) and got many results in the first (narrow column), but the results have acronyms that I do not recognize, like CT:B6E and CS:EE (much etc.). I click on the acronym and the resource pops up in the column to the right. But I cannot find anyway to identify the resource

Well, I finally got the 2 modules in parallel by opening in floating windows & selecting A link. Then followed horrible nightmare, trying to get them to track & link & be readable. I had to uncheck show footnotes. At first it was making 2 columns in the English window, with only a few words per line. Then somehow it stopped that. I found that it could

I have no idea how to grab a tab -- I never observed any grabable tabs. I don't know why when you have one module open in a window & activate a new module, why it doesn't just appear in a new parallel window. I am using a MacBook.
