I love Logos. I love the improvements Logos 7 has brought. But I hate the way it can be slow to load up or can hang for a few seconds when performing some function when open. Occasionally there are specific speed tips on the forums e.g. recently on deleting past layouts. Can anyone give me/ point me to where there are collected tips on optimizing Logos

Thanks Mike for confirming it's not just me. Will someone from Faithlife pick this up from this forum so it can be resolved?

This bug is quite frustrating as I've also been finding - https://community.logos.com/forums/t/171814.aspx It's one of those things I use all the time rather than occasionally. Please can we have an update on when it will be fixed.
-
I agree that 2 months is a long time. It would be nice if it were fixed with the imminent release of Logos 8. However, for those remaining with Logos 7 it still ought to be sorted without waiting months until the free cut down of Logos 8 is made available.

Bob, Your willingness to interact here is always greatly appreciated. The order for a new product seems to be (1) Public sales pitch, (2) Personal email, (3) Business rationale on the forums. LN had a public sales pitch focused on features but your business rationale here on the forums focussed on the need for a subscription model. Upset seems to have

Are there signs that Logos 8 is pretty close? With 21 months between L6 (Nov 2014) and L7 (Aug 2016) could we expect L8 by May? We're also approaching 7.14 and 6.14 was the last L6 release. Logos Now was changed just before L7 released ( https://community.logos.com/forums/p/128822/837191.aspx ), and it's recently been changed again.
Go to Visual Filters menu on BDAG/HALOT and choose emphasise active references.
This one tip has made a massive difference to my study. Thanks! Andrew - do you have any more top tips to share?

Please can we have an update on when this resource is coming to Logos? It's worth it for the insight it gives into early paragraphing alone, aside from the scholarly benefits behind its approach to textual criticism. I use it all the time and would much rather buy it in Logos than have to call up a website all the time.

Really glad this is now in Prepub. Thanks Adam for drawing our attention to that. However, could it sit there for a long time?
-
That's very encouraging. I'm really looking forward to having it in Logos.

I was thinking of upgrading but this thread has made me cautious. Can someone with Logos 8 using small screens comment on the change of the position of the parallel resource sets icon. In Logos 7 it is on the left of a resource window, so as the window contracts it is visible when no other buttons are (e.g. interlinear). In Logos 8 it looks like it
-
Thanks, John. That's what I feared. Even were the ability to scroll across added, to me this is a major reason not to upgrade. I click on this icon dozens of times a day and don't want to have to scroll. I can't understand why it would be moved from the most accessible to the least accessible position. I'd be interested to hear the rationale from Faithlife

I'm currently puzzled why I get a different number of occurrences of a Hebrew verb when I use the morphology charts to when I do a morph search. Morph searching "lemma:בין@V" I get 170 hits (BHS SESB) but with the morphology chart only 151 With a less common verb, the difference is smaller but still present. For example - ברא - this gives me 46 hits
-
Thanks MJ for confirming it wasn't me and Eli for reporting as a bug. Morph Charts are a fantastic exegetical feature - as is morph search - so it would be great to see the search results as totally accurate. How long would a bug fix take? 6.9?

I wonder if the reduction has anything to do with tragic revelations from recently released his papers. The fact that he treated his secretary, who helped him write his dogmatics, as an second wife has led some to turn away from his writings on moral rather than theological grounds. https://theecclesialcalvinist.wordpress.com/2017/10/02/why-i-still

After already requesting this here https://community.logos.com/forums/p/148261/921343.aspx#921343 I am delighted to see Logos showing interest. Same question: when will this be a prepub?
-
I'm really pleased to have this in my library. Thank you for processing it. I don't seem to have the ability to select my visual filters (Tense/ Mood/ Voice etc) that I have with NA28 and English Bibles. Is this because the Morph Tagging is not there yet? Or that I'm doing something wrong?

On my Logos 7 home page, this ad has appeared. I clicked through and found no $100 saving. The parts I highlighted show a promise of an extra $100 discount (not a voucher) in return for an upgrade. What am I missing?

I don’t think it was dishonest. I do think it was confusing.
I totally agree that it was NOT dishonest. I do not think Faithlife ever tries to be dishonest. Obviously, there is confusion resulting in this discussion.
The message I received was not ambiguous or confusing.
