the argument of "works salvation" is over..... all one has to do is read Joh 6:28-29 .
And in the context of your assertion, xnman, the question to which in this thread I've asked for resources to address is, what message about "works salvation" did Jesus mean to communicate to the questioner in Mark 10.17-31 when he told
What this thread has become....is the discussion of the different "rules" that one must do to get into God's world. I don't believe... there as single passage, or concurrent group of passages, in the Bible...that states all the rules to get to get into God's world. I do believe the process is simple.... but one must search for it
Within DAL's research question, Jesus also doesn't spell out saved 'from what'. The 'what' also varied considerably, with Origen later suggesting no worries, Whatever the 'what' was, the crowds didn't seem to be mystified.
I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that "saved" in DAL's research question referred to the subject of the
But did Jesus reference belief and keeping commandments and repentance in other places?
Yes. But the Mark 10 scene is Jesus' first and perhaps only opportunity to tell that specific person about the requirements for eternal life or to identify for his disciples the lessons from the man's apparent rejection of Jesus' direction
The Gospel at its core is VERY simple.. Works will not get you into Heaven.. The Bible is very clear on this.. And there has only been one person that ever kept the Tora and the Laws without breaking them. And that was Jesus.. And as the OT teaches, if you have broken even just one of the laws, you have broken all of them

Excellent and instructive, Mike. It's a well-established conspiracy theory that nothing good came out of the year 1912, not even for the Northern Conservative Great Lakes Region Councils, which was roundly criticized for thinking itself superior to the others Great Lakes Councils.

Yes, I know that mathematically that a mere 16 yes/no positions is sufficient to reach 40,000 but I also that model is lousy for this case. Has anyone seen any articles/textbooks that try to estimate

Thanks for asking about the feedback option. About nine months ago I posted this passage list issue in that area, where to-date it has received exactly two votes. Should you or other forum participants be interested in adding to that count, my feedback post can be found AT THIS LINK .

  • Re: "Passage List" Compact "Default" View

Hi, Rob, Thanks for asking about passage lists. I think the answer to your question is no - there is no way to change the default presentation of passage lists. An additional aspect of the passage list issue is that while saved layouts preserve the look and location of many/most elements, they do NOT save the status of passage lists. I use a passage

How many instances of the word "veil" does your installation of Logos report in, say, the NLT, the ESV, and the KJV? My installation reports... NLT - 19 instances in 18 verses ESV - 42 instances in 40 verses KJV - 7 instances in 7 verses I have neither the "Match case" nor the "Match all word forms" options selected for this search.

MJ, given the content of the forum guidelines to which you asked the poster Nev Billet to abide - specifically, its proscription against discussions of "biblical, theological, or other controversial subjects" - isn't most of this thread, including several of your own contributions to it, in violation of them? That is, isn't it about five pages of posts
