From what I see there is nothng to see in the October sales - which I am fine with, I am sure others will find something of interest to them.
I am disappointed, with this being the 500th anniversary of Wittenburg, I would have thought Faithlife would have honored that some how.
-
Well, Im not that impressed with the sales this month. Am I overlooking something?
-
I received temporary licenses yesterday for Becoming Christian: Essays on 1 Peter and the Making of Christian Identity Attitudes to Gentiles in Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity Perhaps these are October previews? I have no idea why I would get them otherwise.
Im seeing some chatter about T&T Clark... so maybe
I personally don't own the TDOT but I do own the others.
I do own TWOT, so maybe I will be alright without the NIDTE right now.
I think that similar resources would include any theological dictionary.
So is TDOT the most exhaustive of the group? It is definitely the most expensive, but is it that much better than Vangameren's?
-
Has anyone heard who will be the publisher on sale in October?
-
As Keith said, the "New International Dictionary of Theology and Exegesis: Old and New Testament (10 vols.)" is more of a lexicon than a dictionary. Blacks is organized by books of the Bible and NIDTHE is organized by words with an emphasis on theological concepts of the Bible.
So what similar works would the NIDTHE
-
Hey Bruce, how do these compare to the Black dictionaries, or Anchor Yale?
-
Are there any resources on sale right now that you would say are must Have? Thanks!
-
Ok, so thoughts on comparing the Zondervan Biblical Theology set (4 vol) with the IVP Biblical Theology set (5 vol). Comparisons and contrasts? Strengths and weaknesses? Thanks!
I don't really want more than one monitor,
Not sure if you have experience with more than one monitor, but if not, let me say in my opinion it is a great advancement. The only way (now that I have gone to two widescreens myself) I can see getting a close experience with one is if it is ginormous! That way you

Yes Daniel, the first of what you said. For example, if you go to https://www.logos.com/compare/libraries/baptist and scroll the list, you will see College Press NIV commentaries listed, then as you continue to scroll down, you will see them listed again. Another issue that needs addressing is if you go to the Logos home page on the web, then choose
I've been waiting for the New International to go on sale myself since I only have the NT in a paper version.
Well, it is on sale this month!
-
So then, which product would be preferred- the New International Dictionary or the Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary?
-
Wow, thanks that does help. So the HALOT is almost pure data, whereas the Theological dictionary provides specific uses- thus giving context for the uses. Almost like an encyclopedia.
You might find the discussion at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/12198/95762.aspx a good starting point for this
I get lost sometimes with the Acronyms, but this is the product I am asking about: https://www.logos.com/product/129798/new-international-dictionary-of-theology-and-exegesis-old-and-new-testament

For any who have these volumes, please help me with finding out if the New International Dictionary of Theology and Exegesis is worth the money if I have BDAG/HALOT, and other resources? Is there similar products that maybe I already have that compares? What will this resource give me over the others? Thanks!
-
Is there a single place I can go to see all the items that are available for me at a discount under the Academic pricing program? Thanks.
-
The Academic discount is currently 40% off, making it $159.

Daniel, I wish when you are looking at the contents of a package, it doesn't repeat the items ad nauseum. It should list them one time each, as it makes the package seem inflated beyond reality.
