It has been almost a full 2 years since a blog post under the Baptist heading has occurred. Are there any Baptist on board at Faithlife?

How do you set up a "reading plan" for the books you are currently reading? That is something new to me.

Greg I am using it currently, and have only found a weak spot thus far (which isnt far) and that is Matthew 16.26, it kept the HCSB using "life" rather than "soul". I think this is a weaker translation, but still a possible translation. But time will tell. I like the balance of word for word versus thought for thought. I still consult others to compare

Thank you, I believe I got it done.

I rejoice with you in this kind providence!

Wow, I thought he was a Presbyterian! Great to know he is Baptist!

No one has these resources to compare?

Okay, so I am currently reading through Blomberg's Handbook on NT Exegesis. I ordered on pre-pub the How to Understand and Apply the Old and New Testaments. So, I wonder, if there is an advantage to having Naselli's book on the NT if I already have Blomberg's? Blomberg did give a great endorsement to Naselli's work. But is there really a big enough

Is Dr. Heiser a fellow Amiller?

Anytime quotes are taken out of context creates a straw man. However, there have been enough sound study done on the LDS to show it to be heretical.

How can I prioritize my top commentaries for each individual book of the bible? So far I have only seen how I can prioritize the commentary series in my library, but is there a way to do for the book Im studying in? For example, if I am in John, Pillar is top rated, yet in Galatians NIGTC is top rated. How can I set it so this is how my guides, right

Here is a nugget you may enjoy reading that is related to this question- https://blog.logos.com/2017/03/accurate-literal-non-literal-bible-translations/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=promo-logospro2017&utm_content=bst_translations%20(1)&spMailingID=340066&spUserID=MjMzMjg0MzUyS0&spJobID=260287436&spReportId=MjYwMjg3NDM2S0

Yes, thank you. I guess what I wanted to ask is if there are equally respected resources in the same "class" as the IVP Blacks and Anchor Yale Dictionary that I should consider?

Go over to www.biblicaltraining.org and listen to some of Dr. Moo's lectures on Romans and decide for yourself. He addresses the NP some and NT Wright. The impressive thing of Moo is he is very even and fair in his dealings. He is a humble man and teaches in a way that gives fair time to various views, and then gives his own view. He is a respected

Here is the Introduction: INTRODUCTION G. K. BEALE AND D. A. CARSON It might be the part of wisdom to say what this book is not, so as to clarify what it is and how it works. Nowhere does this volume survey contemporary debates over the use of the OT in the NT. The many subdisciplines that contribute to this enterprise have not been canvassed. For example

Matthew, I am not aware of it being cheaper. I think I got it one year with my birthday money. Have not regretted the investment. Great book. The Scripture references are a great tool. Definitely a great launching pad for any exegetical study of a NT passage. The quality you expect from scholars like Carson and Beale.

Im trying to weigh which product to get for the OT. Im deciding between the Black IVP dictionaries (I have the NT volumes), or the Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary OT. Thanks.

Yes, the audio lectures on Biblical Training are good. Like the other commenters said, unless you are a visual learner, the free audio or the books are "good enough". I too find the Mobile Ed courses to be expensive. I like that they tie in the LOGOS system and show how to specifically use the system for that study, but still think they are over priced

Okay, so I am unfamiliar with Vyrso. I see it is connected to LOGOS, but its not LOGOS? I got this free book, so will it connect with my LOGOS library? Or is it basically like a Kindle set up? Thanks!
