users have been taught quite different workflows to create the same end product. This means that there is no "industry standard" workflow for them to design to.
I imagine you're correct on this. This is natural in any software system, but I maintain it's due more to the fact that the interface is obtuse. Nothing really

I know. Thank you MJ. My point was that that preference was not a solution to the problem of layouts not auto-saving because there's only a single scenario where it works. Thanks for the tip though.

Thanks for your thoughts SineNomine. Here are mine.
FaithLife conceptualizes layouts differently than you (and many other people) do. For them, Layouts are principally starting points, not trackers of ongoing work. Their approach supports a common workflow model... but not your (common) workflow model. "Self-Updating Layouts

Thanks for that, Lonnie, that's a good tip. I just tried it though. It actually doesn't save the layout as a new permanent state of the layout. It's only temporary. Let's say I have two layouts: Bible Study Layout and Catechism Study Layout. Scenario 1 : I open Bible Study Layout at the beginning of Mark, read to the end of Mark 3, then close the application

Thanks for the opportunity to voice our opinions. It's great to know that the developers are interested in the experiences of users. It doesn't always seem that way with other software companies, so I appreciate this opportunity. Sorry that this will be a very long post, but I experience a lot of frustration with this software. I'm a Verbum (Catholic

  • Cannot delete a personal book

I've tried everything I could think of and could find in these forums. Verbum 6.14 SR-3 6.14.0.0079 iMac macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Right-clicking does nothing. It doesn't bring up any contextual menu options on either of my personal books. I've used every modifier key (command, ctrl, shift, Fn, option) when clicking, and in many combinations. No contextual

  • Re: PBB - Converting pdf and epub to docx

This is not to disparage the kind and helpful people in this thread offering workable solutions (thank you!), but like virtually everything else about this software, this seems like a ridiculously cumbersome thing to have to do. The "P" in "PDF" means "portable." Logos should just provide the ability to upload a PDF so it can be read in the software

Thanks Dave. That's helpful, and far less arcane than some other aspects of this software. :)

Thanks as always MJ. So it seems like I'd want to use tags for my notes to add "categories" to them. Once I add tags to my Notes, what am I able to do with them? Can I collect or view all notes with the same tag in a single place?

  • Tags vs. Labels in Logos 6 — What are they used for? What's the difference?

I've tried unsuccessfully to find a description of labels and tags in the Logos 6 support documentation. Maybe y'all can help. There's a Logos 6 feature that enables me to add a tag or a label to an individual note but I don't know what they do and what the difference is between them. I'm familiar with tagging and labeling generally (outside Logos)

Thanks for that MJ. Sounds like it's being worked on. I hope they fix it soon. It's a very useful tool.

Rereading my comment above, "None of your other questions make any sense" seems kind of harsh. It wasn't meant to be. I simply meant I didn't understand the questions because they don't seem to apply to what I was asking about. My apologies if they offended. Such are the perils of electronic communication with no body language or tone I guess.

Thanks Dean. There was no Bible switching for me. The Bible I was working in was my preferred Bible and I wasn't clicking any links. Just highlighting a passage. I tried clicking back on the same Bible too. No luck. Synced scrolling wouldn't return until I quit and re-opened the app.

It's Verbum 6 on OS X. None of your other questions make any sense. It's obviously a bug. I'll contact support. Thanks.

  • Re: Add right-click search to palettes and styles in the highlighting panel

Correct. The search feature searches for text within the highlights, not the highlights themselves. Requiring an asterisk to accomplish this gets back to the same problem of requiring obscure knowledge to accomplish the task rather than the interface itself, which a user could at least use to figure out the problem after a few seconds of poking around

Yes. That's what "should" happen, but it doesn't. That's why I posted the problem.

  • Text Comparison tool stops following Bible text after highlighting

I have a Bible reading plan layout with my Bible and the Text Comparison tool open so I can see the differences in translation. The Bible is the "A" reference and the Text Comparison tool is linked to "A." When I open the Verbum software and go to this layout, the Text Comparison tool tracks the Bible text as expected when I scroll. When I select text

Great suggestion Francis. The vast majority of users in every system use interface elements to interact with the software and are completely confused when you start throwing codes at them. We have computers to do the hard stuff for us. We don't want to be our own programmer with obscure codes to do a simple search. Your idea works because it uses a

  • Re: Highlighting struggles: Collecting all highlights of a single style

Thanks for the help everyone. You've all been very helpful. It looks like two strings worked for me: {Highlight palette / style } - needed if two palettes have a style of the same name and you only want one {Highlight style } - good if the style name is unique or (I guess) if you want to find style in multiple palettes I appreciate everyone's help.

  • Re: Highlighting struggles: Collecting all highlights of a single style

Thanks M.J. {Highlight Style Quotes} returns nothing. "Quotes" is the exact name of my style and the palette name is "Highlights". I've tried several different ways to structure this and several different styles (and in resources that I know have a particular style highlight) but I get nothing.
