  • Casual Bible Study

While the intellectuals are hard at work and all abuzz about the new beta I was just thinkin... Bible study should primarily, either be inductive and intensive or devotional. (I guess there could be other categories) However, Logos 4 does allow you many opportunities to just be casual. If I split my display and on one side I open my favorite reverse

If you have the Pocket Dictionary for the Study of the New Testament Greek, that may help some.

  • Re: Sections in dictionaries

Brian, If you have a Bible open to where that word occurs, you can right click on it and choose selection and then choose power lookup and a whole list of definitions of that word will appear from your dictionaries.

  • Re: Word Study Dictionary causes crash

Mark, thanks for your response! I did what you suggested, which created a fresh collection tool, but that isn't what is wrong. If I attempt to open The Complete Word Study Dictionary from the library, Logos crashes. If the collection tool isn't open, it still crashes. The reason it crashed when I attempted to change layouts is because, that layout had

  • Re: Word Study Dictionary causes crash

I believe what may have caused this to happen is that I scrolled rapidly in the dictionary and before the computer had caught up I scrolled again and then when nothing happened I impatiently left clicked on the book and then it crashed. It is still unresolved, so I would appreciate your response in helping me.

7824.Logos4Crash.txt Mark, is this what you requested? I am new at this . I noticed it didn't crash when I moved other books, but after I made the post it crashed when I attempted to change to a different layout. Thanks for the response.

  • Word Study Dictionary causes crash

When I attempt to drag the Complete Word Study Dictionary from the library into a collection it causes L4 to crash. Can anyone duplicate this problem? I am using Windows 7 on a fairly new Vaio laptop. Or otherwise know why it might take place?

  • Re: Questions for Greek scholars / those who do work with the Greek

You could also keep your copy of Pocket Dictionary for the Study of New Testament Greek on the shortcut bar if you find it helpful for quick reference. If you end up making a lot of visual filters you can put folders inside of folders in the favorites tool to organize them for quick reference.

When your visual filter pane is open, does it list on the search line something like all morph text in all passages in esv with logos greek for. If it does also make sure your are looking in the same Bible you chose for the filter.

After becoming somewhat familiar with this software, it is easy to lose sight of just how amazing it is! It truly is an amazing tool. Like a good worship leader that forgets the complexity of their musical instrument and loses themselves in worship and adoration, my goal is to become familiar enough with Logos, that I find myself lost in the wonder

If they are indeed random and are not overseen by an editor I stand corrected and apologize. I was only making an observation, albeit perhaps misguided. I enjoy everything about Logos, even the Home Page and the theological diversity. Hopefully we can get back to talking about the software.

We have experienced the same baptism (vv. 12–13). It is unfortunate that the term “baptism of the Spirit” has been divorced from its original New Testament meaning. God has spoken to us in Spirit-given words which we must not confuse (1 Cor. 2:12–13). The baptism of the Spirit occurs at conversion when the Spirit enters the believing sinner, gives him

M.J. I agree with your response in general, but I question the absence of human input in the theological bias of the "random content generator", if that was your implication. I have previously noted bias on the Home Page, but it seemed to be aimed to please the wider evangelical and "mainline" Christian audience. So I would say that this forum isn't
