  • Re: Pastors, How do you use illustrations with Logos?

The illustrations that I have added to my notes are not only tagged, but also anchored to specific verses with an orange star so I know that there is an illustration I believed to be relevant to that particular verse. It serves as a bit of a wake up call to me in my prep. Also, I find when looking for illustrations to finish out my sermon, I end up

  • Text comparison in Powerpoint and Word

I am teaching a class on textual variations and would love an easy way to export a logos textual comparison to a power point slide. In fact I will have 20 or 30 passages. I would love a way to export the whole list to Word, not just one at a time. I would also like to get the entire chart copied over to ppt... it would seem that the whole thing does

  • Re: Pastors, How do you use illustrations with Logos?

I use both the Logos Notes and the Logos Illustrations tab to find, save and record illustrations. I also subscribe to sermoncentral.com . In Logos notes I have created a notebook just for illustrations. When I find a good one, I will paste it to my notebook and anchor it to the appropriate verses and tag the note with key words such as subject matter

  • Re: Where did the stars go?

I am on a PC. Yes the icons seem to glitch out if I have the notes expanded like I usually do. All the icons become squares. If I open the middle column then I have all the icons

  • Where did the stars go?

I am happy with the recent fixes to the notes. ( Hyperlink restored... notes can be sorted in verse order) However... I use the star icon to mark anchored illustrations in the passages. It seems that the star is no longer available? Am I missing something?

  • Re: Facebook Community Standards

So I just tried to post a copy of something from a devotional using visual filter... it was also rejected. FL needs to remedy this if possible otherwise the visual filter will have no FB application. I can put the same image up the long way by making a jpeg from a power point slide made from the visual filter..., I can post it that way... so there must

  • Facebook is Blocking Scripture Posts

I tried to post a visual copy of 1 Peter 1:16 this morning from KJV and I got a message that this was offensive content... I tried different backgrounds... all rejected. I tried several different verses, and as long as I used the visual copy tool.. it rejected my attempts every time. I tried other versions and the famous John 3:16, but all were rejected

  • Re: Logos 8 Notes Need Help - Bring back Features of Logos 7

probably half of my time on Logos ( which is probably 20-30 hours a week) is spent in the notes system. I have both gone to the MP seminar to learn logos 8 and have viewed all his videos on line. Having said that, there is a huge learning curve with the new system. Once I got my mind around the fact that this is a completely new approach, I learned

  • Re: What version of the Bible are you planning to read in 2019?

I will be using the Logos Chronological plan this year to read through the KJV. Three years ago we started a Bible Reading Challenge in our church where folks committed to a Bible reading plan and were accountable to follow through with that plan..it has helped us to grow as a congregation. This year our folks are choosing from either the chronological

  • Re: Kjv only

There are many who offer thoughtful refutations of KJV only, but if you are looking for a sane, well stated case for preservation and the TR, I suggest "Touch Not the Unclean Thing" by David Sorenson. https://www.amazon.com/Touch-Not-Unclean-Thing-Separation/dp/0971138400 It is required reading for every graduate of Pensacola Christian College... it

I subscribe to mpseminarsonline.com Under the Logos 8 section, Morris has a very detailed bit by bit explanation of the notes. I have viewed each bite sized video and now have a pretty good understanding. IMO this is the best bang for the training buck out there.

  • Re: Logos 8 Notes for Dummies

For what it is worth, I am a subscriber to mpseminarsonline.com Yes it is a monthly fee, but well worth it IMO especially when it comes to the Logos 8 training. Morris devotes a great deal of time and material to the new notes feature. Each video is under 5 minutes. I begin my office time every morning by watching a few videos before starting my morning

  • Re: Is it possible to merge entire notebooks?

In the old version I used to be able to access the notes that I had attached to verse 13 and then scroll down to access the notes that I had attached to verse 14 rather than opening an entirely new note. Everything seems a lot more disconnected in this version. Perhaps I just need to get more use to how the new version works.

  • Re: Is it possible to merge entire notebooks?

That's too bad... but at least I don't have to do each one. On another note I don't think I am liking how Logos has separated each versified note... makes for a very choppy process

  • Is it possible to merge entire notebooks?

I love the fact that I can now move old notes into different notebooks. Is it possible to take a group of notes that has been classified in a notebook for example a notebook labled eph 3 and move the entire notebook into another existing notebook entitled Ephesians... so that all the Ephesians notes are together in one notebook.

  • Default Color

When copying a resource to a note, Logos 7 used to put the source information in a different color(blue?). Now the citation is the same color.... I liked the change so that I could see when one citation ended and another began. Is there any way to change that?

  • Re: No longer possible to send books to Kindle?

This is frustrating. Logos should do what it takes to fix this...no blame shifting and excuses...Once again... the product I paid top dollar for is now changing without my approval.
