  • "send to kindle" missing for some books

I know the "send to Kindle" feature is being retired (I read it the day I got my new Kindle), so I want to send some of my more important resources to my Kindle before the deadline. I had no problem sending this resource: Thomas Aquinas, Commentary on the Gospel of John: Chapters 1–21 . (Washington, DC: The Catholic University of America Press, 2010

  • Re: "send to kindle" missing for some books

Thanks alabama24, but I'm not sure I understand. Why wouldn't my resource be enabled for "send to Kindle"? I thought that the vast majority of resources were enabled, and I assumed these of mine were too, but there might be some other problem. Could Faithlife confirm that the CUA "Fathers of the Church Series" were not enabled to for "send to Kindle

  • BUG?: Scripture refs in PB not found by Search

I have created a personal book with many Scripture references. These references are identified as such when the book is built, and the Scripture text appears when hovering over it or clicking on it. When I use Search, however, and search for a Scripture reference such as <Acts 1:1>, it does not find the references. Strangely, the Concordance tool

Dave, that's it. Thank you! I would like to edit my original post title, but I don't know that I can. In any case, I really appreciate it. Best, James

  • Re: Traditional Latin Mass

Greg, One option for you would be to purchase the 1962 Missale Romanum, which is part of the "Missals of the Roman Catholic Church" package: https://verbum.com/products/20189/missals-of-the-roman-catholic-church It would not solve your question about the lectionary (I would like to see the same thing), but at least you could check the Missal to see

  • Re: Bug: Creating subfolders in the Favorites Tool (Mac)

I'm having the same problem. Very frustrating. It seems to happen when dragging a folder into an empty folder. If the folder has a subfolder already in it, or if it has a link in the folder, it does not crash.

  • Re: automatically generate a Scriptural "commentary" from references to Scripture?

Dear Mark, Thank you very much for your excellent suggestions. No, I definitely do not want to keep doing this manually, and th e concordance tool gets me most of the way to where I want to be, as you said. A couple of extra steps would really complete this for me: 1. if I could select a collection in the Concordance rather than just individual resources

  • Bug?: unable to export or print from Concordance Tool

Has anyone been able to export from the Concordance? I merely get the message "This panel supports export only", and if I do try to export by creating an Excel file, I only get the summary data, without the details. Many thanks in advance for any help, or to Faithlife for a solution! Best, James

  • Re: Bug?: unable to export or print from Concordance Tool

Dear Dave, Thanks for your response. Right, I'm content not to see it on the screen and to export it to another file, but I don't see how to do that. It could be user error, but I I've tried it several times and different ways. Best, James

  • Re: Language-version of linked resource?

OK, I've been playing around with Priority, but I might now I have a problem. I wanted to set priority so that as I'm looking up words in Latin and Greek dictionaries, the resources linked to would open up in the language that the dictionary is illustrating. It's kind of a wasted step for my to click on a citation of the Iliad only to have it open up

Thank you. Does anyone know if there is an OT resource in the works, or perhaps a Dead Sea Scrolls?

  • automatically generate a Scriptural "commentary" from references to Scripture?

Since all or most references to Sacred Scripture are currently tagged in most Logos/Verbum books, does a tool exist that would allow a user to generate a list of Scripture references, and perhaps a couple of lines of text (such as in a search result) for a particular book, writer, or collection? If this does not exist, it seems like it would be very

  • Re: links to references in St. Thomas Aquinas's commentary on the Gospel of St. John

I tried the PB syntax, and no difference that I can detect. I can however, and I assume this is with Word links as well, specify the page number, and that does work. The problem is the "off=" doesn't make any difference. I copied and pasted the same link several times, modifying only the "off=" parameter, but got not difference in results. It always

  • Re: links to references in St. Thomas Aquinas's commentary on the Gospel of St. John

Dear Dave, Thank you for your response to this. The Bible reference option is not possible, as many commentaries will go for many pages on just one set of verses. When you say this is a known problem, does that mean that Faithlife has registered it as a bug? If so, I haven't found any recent forum items that say that, and the official Wiki says that

  • Re: BUG: URL Locations in Personal Books are not accurate

Ah, OK. I had misunderstood it seems. Thank you for taking the time to explain. So is it a known bug or is it simply not supposed to work with the off= parameter? If a bug, any idea on when it might be addressed?

  • links to references in St. Thomas Aquinas's commentary on the Gospel of St. John

I am making a personal book and am trying to include references in St. Thomas's commentary on St. John's gospel, which is available on Verbum. The problem I have is that there does not seem to be any way of linking to specific parts of the book using the paragraph numbers that are included, this despite the fact that the book is indexed by paragraph

  • Re: import a passage list and include the headings?

Thank you, Doc B. Yes, I found that, and that is sort of what I wanted, but I would like to do it automatically, as I want to import a long list of Bible passages, with descriptions of each passage, which should be placed in the heading area. I see that it is possible to import a file, but apparently only the passages are brought in. Is there any other

  • Missing links in St. Thomas's Summa Theologica?

I just got Verbum a few days ago and am very much enjoying my exploration of it. One of the reasons I bought this product was the idea that all of the various resources that I buy will be linked together, but for some reason some of the resources mentioned in St. Thomas's Summa Theologica are missing links. For example: in IIIa, q.47, a.3, St. Thomas

Yes, Weller's Rituale would be very helpful, especially both the English and the Latin texts. A hand missal for the 1962 Mass would be very useful too.
