• Lexham Theological Wordbook Error Evil/Shepherd

I was doing a quick study of Psalm 23:1 and noticed in the exegetical guide that the Lexham Theological Wordbook is incorrectly linking to the Hebrew word for evil instead of the one for shepherd . I am aware of the similarity of the roots and checked the LTW in case there was no entry for shepherd and it was just pointing to a similar root. However

  • Re: TIP of the day: from the blogs: Old Testament prophecies referred to in the Holy Week scriptures.

Thanks MJ. This list, while interesting, is incomplete. For example, I was preaching on Matthew 21:1-11 yesterday morning and Matthew 21:12-17 in the evening. So Isaiah 62:11 should be in there, as should Jeremiah 7:11 since they were quoted (in part) along with Zech. 9:9 and Isa. 56:7 respectively. I don't have Logos Now but I look forward to getting

  • Re: Oldest Extant Psalm 22 Manuscript?

Hi Liam, I was intrigued and did a bit of reading about this. The scholarly consensus seems to be that the 5/6HevPs scroll can be dated to mid-1st - early 2nd century AD. However, the scrolls were very definitely from a Jewish community rather than a Christian one. Colin.

  • Re: I do not understand. Logos sales & emails

You make some interesting points Matthew! For me though, your first point is a hypothetical since I certainly haven't been given access to any special deals through a salesperson that were not available on the web-site, and I always do my research carefully before I buy. One alternative angle on your first point is that the sales rep in the example

Like many of you I haven't had a good experience with the generic email addresses at Faithlife. I always try now to contact someone personally. In fact often when I contact the cs team I mention by name in my email someone who has helped me before. However, after losing my first sales rep. in the downsizing, I followed the recommendation by a few others
how come no one is bidding for P. E. Kretzmann's Complete Commentary on Community Pricing. I know a lot of people have it in print. But it is so small a print! This work for $16???!!! I am a Missouri Synod Lutheran and this is part of my church body's Biblical interpretation legacy. Plus, it really is good stuff! All
Luther's Works Volume 69. Maybe we all just need to contact Logos and say, "Hey guys! We know you got it! Give it to us!" Even if they did it as a pre-pub it, it would be make it's goal quickly and fairly easily.
I was curious and just had a look for this and it turns out it has been released on pre-pub - see

  • Re: The Case Against Q: Studies in Markan Priority and Synoptic Problem by Mark Goodacre

I don't know much about this book but there is already available in various Logos journals the amazing story and the fresh approach of Eta Linnemann. (A search for her surname brings up 638 results from my journals.) In them the story of her scholarly background, her conversion to evangelical Christianity and her repudiation of her previous teaching

  • Re: Another stealth increase of dynamic pricing

Thanks for your comment Dan - you're probably right. Thanks too for your offer Matthew but it's not just one product. I've probably certainly over-reacted here but I love seeing the price of base packages decrease as I buy other products. I keep track of my prices for base packages and, for example, was overjoyed to discover earlier in the month that

  • Re: Another stealth increase of dynamic pricing

Thanks Greg for your helpful post - I have changed the title now. I certainly wasn't intending to be slanderous - I was chatting with my daughter this morning about the meaning of the word 'stealth' so it was in my mind. You're right, it could be a result of the things you mention but I buy in US dollars so it is not the exchange rate. Perhaps it is

  • Another small increase of dynamic pricing?

In a previous thread less than 3 weeks ago https://community.logos.com/forums/t/123409.aspx I drew attention to a change in the calculation of dynamic pricing that meant all of us would see an increase in base package upgrades, completing collections, etc. In other words the value of our present Logos library has decreased (has been made to decrease

Surely someone from Faithlife can come on here and let us know that it is not so!

Thanks Sean. I'm wondering though, how do you know? The email doesn't mention those details. Here's what it says: "Thank you for reporting the typo in The Confessions of St. Augustine. We appreciate your sharp eye for detail and apologize for the error. We have logged the typo and are working to correct it. Thank you for your help! Logos Bible Software

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been reading through the Pusey translation of Augustine's Confessions along with a Wipf and Stock Logos reading group. I have reached chapter 6 and have reported about 12 typos so far. The thing is, after the first typo report in that resource, I received no others. In fact there have been times when I have reported

  • Why are we paying more for dynamic pricing? How is it calculated?

Recently we have been discussing changes in dynamic pricing. https://community.logos.com/forums/p/123409/806378.aspx#806378 I said there: "There was already quite a complicated formula for calculating dynamic pricing but we had become familiar with it and MVPs like Mark Barnes often explained it on these forums. It was a fair application of Faithlife
