Anyone else got the problem of no scrolling in the drop-down lists to set the Type and Language in PBB (Personal Book Builder)? They default to Monograph and English on a new book but, if you want to change these, you can't scroll through (or select) from the full list. I want to use the Sermon type (to try out the long promised replacement for the

Thanks for the response. I saw that thread previously but thought they couldn't have made it that clunky - but, yes, it looks like it. So now, as I go back to convert all my doc files to docx, I have to add a table, and go back each time I use that sermon in another church. I think I'll pass and stick with a much simpler way, and one that won't break

I was recently told PBB has been upgraded and now has tags to allow it to be used for purposes such as sermons, tagging where they've been used, etc. Finally, the long promised Sermon File Addin is back. Unfortunately, on both my iMac and MacBook Air, the dropdown box to select "Sermon" type doesn't scroll - it shows Monograph by default but the drop
-
Still not convinced - still around $150 for the upgrade and I'm losing confidence with it. As far as the sermon file add-in is concerned, that update came through very recently but doesn't work - the drop-down lists of tags doesn't scroll. Even the language choice doesn't drop below Dutch. Not impressed. Besides, all the work done building my former

The issue I have is two-fold: 1) We were told there would be an inexpensive crossgrade from L4 to L5 - I don't call $150 inexpensive. 2) Being offered a discount <$10 is insulting. Logos isn't alone in companies issuing regular "upgrades" - each time new facilities are offered in a new version when what is really needed is to get things working properly
-
SteveF, Yes, I was logged in and the site told me what I had and that I was entitled to a £5.70 discount (~$8). I actually look on that level of discount as an insult, considering how much I've spent over the years (from early Libronix LLS days). And considering their licensing rules meant I had to buy a separate version for my wife... SteveC

Definitely unimpressed with the pricing - I'm being offered it for $150 from L4 Scholar's Library: Silver (LE). That's $90 more than going for the Starter edition. When the crossgrade deal was being promised - just the new engine and core resources to take advantage of it, I expected it to cost a lot less. I think I'll stick with L4 on my Mac.

In fact, I've deleted my Logos sermon files and gone back to a simple spreadsheet and folder with .doc sermons.
If you made those .docx files instead, you could make a personal book.
Yes, I could spend time loading and resaving them as docx, or trying to set up a script to do it,

I've now switched to an iMac and Logos 4, whilst running quicker than it ever did on my old PC, misses other features I had started to use: the handout creator, for example, not in the Mac version and, as far as I can tell, there are no plans to add it. I suspect the Sermon File file add-in is even more distant for me now. In fact, I've deleted my Logos

If Logos 4 isn't going to allow us to easily convert a Logos 3 sermon file (not just to view it but to build onto it) I've already asked that Logos consider building in a converter to allow doc files to be uploaded if we're expected to rebuild sermon libraries in PPB. Another option would be to be able to compile from the individual sermon files to
-
And if there are macros or free apps to do the conversion, why could Logos not build them in? Perhaps this is coming and the current PPB is to keep the hounds at bay but, if I remember correctly, the sermon addin was promised a year ago. As I said in my last posting, I'm shelving Logos 4 for the moment and go back to using Logos 3. I'll re-evaluate
-
I know how to convert but why can Logos not have built a program that could read .doc as well as .docx? To me it's a sign of shoddy development - I feel like I've paid to be a beta tester. At the moment, I'm not investing any more in Logos - I'll use Logos 3 and manage with it.
-
Yes, my current file is indexed and added to Logos 4 but I'd like to be able to continue adding sermons to it without having to go back into Logos 3. It would be like having to keep MS Office XP on my PC alongside MS Office 2010 in order to work on older documents. And that's another issue - I have many of my sermons in Word on archive disks but, having
-
As far as I understand it, the sermon file (the compiled version) and the separate source files (with all the tags added) are in a Logos format, not .docx (my previous individual sermons were prepared in a .doc file but, having converted them to the Logos sermon file for compiling, I didn't bother keeping them - Logos had sold me a tool to manage them
-
I've copied some to Word files and synced them through DocsToGo as an interim measure (to have a selection available on hand for last minute calls - I do pulpit supply) and they work fine. However, having settled on using Logos to maintain my sermons and usage a few years ago (taking over from an Access database I'd previously developed) I'd hoped I
-
Is there a way or, if not, is there any chance Logos could create one, for me to have my sermon file on my iPad? It can't be a copyright issue as I have the copyright to my sermons - I can have them on my laptop in the copy of Logos 4 there but not on my iPad.
-
OK - fixed by reverting IE back from v9 to v8.
-
Having switched back to my Libronix3 system due to no sermon file addin and performance problems running Logos4 (primarily my 2.2GHz two core laptop running Vista isn't powerful enough) I find the sermon compile button in 3 has now ceased to do anything. I can update the individual sermon files but can't compile them. I can no longer use Logos to track

Drivers are as up to date as Sony will provide (by that I mean I have Sony's Vaio Update running and it reports everything at latest. I run with the MB/Intel graphics option because that actually gives me a more solid system (with dual display) than the higher speed option. Works fine with Ligtroom and Photoshop - may take a few seconds to process occasional

Logos4 struggles so much on my PC (a top of the range laptop two years ago, running Vista Business - 2GB RAM and a two core CPU at 2.2GHz) that I've decided to give up on it - Logos 4 that is, not the PC. The PC runs everything else just fine - it's only Logos4 that troubles it (it's also the only program that regularly crashes the display - not even
