  • Re: Practical Theology- Spiritual Direction from Aquinas by Peter Kreeft

Logos has yet to add Practical Theology and now Ignatius has released Peter Kreeft's next book, "How to be Holy." http://www.ignatius.com/Products/HTBH-P/how-to-be-holy.aspx This appears to be an extremely inspiring and important addition to his writings. I hope both of these books are added soon!

  • Faith of the Early Fathers on sale - any opinions?

I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on this small 3 volume collection entitled "Faith of the Early Fathers" that is currently on sale: https://www.logos.com/product/31138/faith-of-the-early-fathers . It seems to be a good sampling of the Church Fathers and has received a lot of positive reviews but I'm having trouble distinguishing it from the "Early

  • Re: Looking to upgrade base package- advice needed

Thanks for your reply. I do realize that Logos/Verbum 7 packages will contain different books and that those differences will effect the cost of the package for me. If the new package includes fewer resources that I already own, I understand that I would pay more. But I'm still not clear as to whether I would also pay a premium to upgrade from Logos

  • Looking to upgrade base package- advice needed

For a few months now, I've been considering upgrading my base package to Verbum Scripture Studies. Right now, I have the Basic package and have also purchased a few individual resources. At this point, my only question is the timing of the upgrade. I'm not in a rush to do this and, as I understand it, Verbum 7 may be released this year. Part of me thinks

  • Re: Navarre bible commentary- any thoughts?

Thanks very much everyone for the feedback. It certainly seems that the consensus is that the multi volume set is worth the added cost. I'm surprised at how much of the commentary seems to have been rewritten for the single volume but I still appreciate the more extensive commentary. The original narrative written by the authors is very good and really

  • Navarre bible commentary- any thoughts?

I received a free copy of the Navarre volume for Luke's Gospel and really like the way it is presented. The commentary is excellent and very spiritual in nature. I'm considering going for the entire New Testament commentary but I've noticed that there are two versions of this product. This one is on sale and is made of up individual volumes. This one

  • Re: Several Catholic pre-pubs have been pulled

I hear you about deliberately stripping down resources and I thought of creating them as personal books. However, they wouldn't sync with the mobile apps which is huge for me. While I'd love to have the entire papal encyclical set, the price is way out of my budget and my needs are not as extensive. It's a good suggestion however, so thank you. Another

  • Re: Several Catholic pre-pubs have been pulled

Wow, some of the texts pulled were pretty fundamental- I'm thinking specifically of papal encyclicals of Leo XIII and other early 20th century popes. Since these are already in the public domain, I imagine that the main cost would be the labor necessary to throughly tag them with live links. Would Faithlife ever consider adding resources like these

  • Practical Theology- Spiritual Direction from Aquinas by Peter Kreeft

Practical Theology- Spiritual Direction from Aquinas: http://www.amazon.com/Practical-Theology-Spiritual-Direction-Aquinas/dp/1586179683/theofficiapet-20 I'm thinking that this should be added to Logos/Verbum. All of Peter Kreeft's other Ignatius Press books are already present. Practical Theology is the companion to Kreeft's Summa of the Summa (already

  • Re: FaithLife Restructure Affects Verbum Staff?

Thanks Dan and Steve for your kind words. A couple of additional points came to mind- For laity doing casual study, Faithlife needs to highlight their resources a bit more and demonstrate how the various bundles and libraries are financially better deals than other electronic ecosystems, such as Amazon's Kindle. These days, the average person has no

  • Re: FaithLife Restructure Affects Verbum Staff?

Just my two cents (for what they’re worth). I am very new to Verbum, having purchased my first library about a month ago. In months prior to that, I went back and forth, ruminating as to whether or not I should invest in a library given the cost and the fact that I had no professional need for the software. What ultimately sold me on the library were

  • Re: Problem: set kindle account to #######@kindle.com

Sorry to bump an old thread but the same thing is happening to me. I'm unable to designate a Kindle account because Logos (Verbum 6- Mac OS) is seeing my "send to kindle" command as a search. I've tried it several days in a row but still don't see a Kindle option in the info window for any of my resources. Is there something else that I can try? Thanks

  • Re: More Ignatius Press Books, please!

[quote user="Rosie Perera"] Copying this post of mine over from another forum where it might have gotten buried: I have a number great books from Ignatius Press in my print library, and would love to see these show up in Logos: The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton Christianity for Modern Pagans: Pascal's Pensees Edited, Outlined & Explained by Peter
